A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Snell Goes Down As Giants Passively Fall To Mets

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on April 25, 2024

The Snell situation continues to get worse. At least it’s not his arm. And actually we lose all the games he pitches in so maybe this is a blessing in disguise. Either way, yuck.

Speaking of *yuck*, man, Soler looks like shit. I’m not totally against him swinging for the fences since that’s why we got him. But in order to hit a home run you are required to swing the bat. In the 7th inning with a chance to blast one with two mates on base he chose to become a spectator and watch the final 2 strikes whiz right past him, striking out on 3 pitches. That is not gonna fly, big boy.

Still, minus Snell our starting pitching staff actually looks a little bit better today so….yeah.

I keep hoping that Soler will flip the switch, but right now he lays off the low strikes and yet he swings at the balls in the dirt.

We need new batting helmets. Shiny black ones with a bright orange 3D SF logo…

Dunno who most of Pirates are but at first look NL summary on B/R they’re hitting about same level as Giants. One of lowest NL for runs per game, HRs, all 3 slash lines and 2nd highest for Ks. They’ve lost 7 of last 10 after hot start.

Soler seemed to eye those two pitches with vague curiosity as they sped across the plate. I don’t think he even shifted his weight.

Soler Will get it together he’s just way to pull happy right now trying to Jack every ball over the LF wall, which is messing with his swing to much.4HR’s all solos is not right he’s had a lot of runners on base opportunities, hell even Ahmed batting 9th has more RBI’s I believe?

To get out of a slump one thing I remember Will Clark&Barry Bonds would say “Think opposite field let the ball get deeper to u at the plate”

He let it get deep yesterday afternoon.

I remember a seeing a slumping BB at Shea around ’99 getting 4 singles in a game. At least I think I do…

Soler is fouling them off when he guesses right, not squaring anything he puts in play, taking the fastball on the outside half not wanting to swing at an off the plate slider, and swinging at the off the plate slider when he tells himself he can’t take a close fastball. There is no remedy for this except time.

He’s also dreaming of the warm beaches in Miami.

That’s Frisco’s real failing, the beaches require layers.

In other news, Wood shut down the Yankees, and Bart hit a 3-run HR for the Pirates.

100 points for Nuggets starters, 95 from 4 guys. Aaron Gordon with 29 and 15 boards. Jokic will get his vs everyone, it’s how much help he gets from rest of starters. They are very good at home and will be tough out.
