A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Yuck. I left that game in the 8th inning and then the texts started rolling in. “What the fuck was that?” “Worst loss of the year!” “Unreal”. I went to the boxscore and couldn’t believe it.

Now Pitt tosses Jones today, Skenes tomorrow. Exciting but this could get ugly, fast.

How the hell is Ranger Suarez 9-0 and dominating the league?

Wow, great play by Chapman to end it. And helluva comeback, sorta makes up for last night’s debacle.

Damn. I’ll give Farhan all the props in the world for getting Chapman. Soler may be a dead stick, but Chapman’s the real deal. Opt-out? *sigh*

Soler did have a pretty good night.

As good a game tonight as last night’s was bad. Baseball remains a crazy sport. You just never know.

    Gotta love some payback.

Last night and tonight are why we all love this stupid damn game. I feel like I’m going to have to watch Field of Dreams again this summer!

His annoying fuckin wife makes me hate that movie…

That’s 15 runs of offense in 2 days. Non Snell starts that should be more than enough.

And props to young guys for hanging in. Matos was 0-4 til 9th, Bailey had K’d with sacks loaded, and Ramos had oh fer w 3Ks as well before singling. Wisely picks up first ribbie of year. Late Night was on base 6 times.

Late Night is incredible 3-3 with 3 walks 6 straight times OB and the clutch 2 out hit too tie it up in the 9th)the last Giant to that was of course Late Night last year! Such a force he’s so great to watch!

I missed all the fireworks, but I’ll check the highlights. It looks like Matos was in the middle of it again. I think he’s not heading back to Sac…

But we can’t bench McKenna and Slater! Ramos can get sent down 5 more times.

Box says 5 no hit shutout innings from pen. 1 BB 7 Ks well done.

Early start tomorrow hopefully some arms still fresh.

Soler seemed to recognize the difference between good sliders and hanging sliders after he swung at a good one a foot off the plate in his first PA. Two singles, a dribbler, 3 RBIs, and one of those hangers lifted to the track. Not bad.

    Now, Chapman ….

Since cutting off cable, I found that my tv had it’s own thing going. Tonight, I see a station called (I think) DJazz and they are doing great saxophonist, 4 by Trane including Favorite Things with Eric Dolphy and now it’s Sonny giving lessons. Great shit.

The Trane stuff looked like Elvin was playing sticks 2 foot long. I know this is probably all on Youtube but this is tv with commercials and everything. I’ve had this for years but didn’t have a clue.

And now, it’s Rahsaan. What a great tv channel. This and the MLB channel are my two favs now.

    • willedav said, on May 22, 2024 at 9:31 pm

      wow that’s fantastic.

D-Backs are leading the Dodgers 6-0. Dodgers seem really vulnerable this season. Freeman’s batting average is now down to the .280s.

  14. zumiee said, on May 22, 2024 at 9:40 pm

Very early Giants game tomorrow; baseball for breakfast on the west coast.

  15. unca_chuck said, on May 22, 2024 at 9:45 pm

    the 33-18 Dodgers.

    Down to .280.

    uh sure

    • zumiee said, on May 22, 2024 at 10:03 pm

The Dodgers are kind of an older team. Muncy is out now with an oblique strain. And as an organization, the Dodgers are blowing through pitchers’ arms.

  16. zumiee said, on May 22, 2024 at 9:49 pm

As other Flappers have said, the homeplate umping in this series has been a travesty. It’s like Black Sox level travesty.

    • xoot said, on May 22, 2024 at 9:52 pm

yeah, call the DOJ. While you’ve got em on the horn, demand to know why they haven’t done something about the Astros WS cheating in 17.

      • zumiee said, on May 22, 2024 at 10:05 pm

Not a bad idea, actually. The Astros completely defrauded fans of the sport that year. People unknowingly bought tickets to a fraud that season.

      • xoot said, on May 22, 2024 at 10:19 pm

And the Giants were stealing dodger signs while Bobby Thomson was at bat.

      • zumiee said, on May 22, 2024 at 10:22 pm

If the public didn’t know until decades later, the situations are kind of different.

      • xoot said, on May 22, 2024 at 10:28 pm

not really. Not at all. The discovery rule as it’s called can delay the running of the statutes of limitation. SOLs probably have expired on Houston’s well publicized buzzers and trash cans. Four years for fraud in Calif. eg.
