A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Comeback Win

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on May 23, 2024

Well, another game I clicked off early only to find out we some how ended up winning. Lose a game late, win a game late, maybe I should just wait and flip these games on in the 8th inning.

Paul Skenes tonight. This is gonna be must watch…..

I just tried that Chuck and only get the link like you did. I like the picture to come right up or it just ain’t the same thrill for me.

Well, Skanes still has Livvy to hop on…

      • zumiee said, on May 23, 2024 at 12:33 pm

The same reason I stopped trying to post Clint after victories.

    • willedav said, on May 23, 2024 at 12:30 pm

Loo’s guy. Couple years ago I saw that Twilight Zone episode, evil ventriloquist dummy who cons others into being criminals.

Fucking wordpress. Making things shittier down the line.

    What a win!

  5. willedav said, on May 23, 2024 at 12:28 pm

What was Bart’s problem? Not like Aroldis was getting squeezed lol.

    • zumiee said, on May 23, 2024 at 12:31 pm

The first base ump called a swing on Bart that he disagreed with. As Bart ran past him on the ground out, he said the magic words to the ump.

    • alleykat69 said, on May 23, 2024 at 12:33 pm

Bart got tossed by the 1st base umpire for saying the F word after he grounded out.Goes from hero to goat today..

Giants overcome 2 Grandslams to win games unreal..

    • xoot said, on May 23, 2024 at 12:35 pm

      dumb argument from Bart.

      • xoot said, on May 23, 2024 at 12:40 pm

that swing call by the way was horseshit! Watch your mouth, young man, or I’ll send you to the principal’s office. Sorry if I mumbled. I said horseshit! That’s it!

        Chicken shit.

  6. zumiee said, on May 23, 2024 at 12:29 pm

BF said it well at the beginning of the series:

“Grab some popcorn. What a treat we have in store for us in Pittsburgh.”

  7. Flavor said, on May 23, 2024 at 12:34 pm

Damn, wish I’d seen this one today. What a wild 3 straight games these were.

    • willedav said, on May 23, 2024 at 12:55 pm

wild games, all of them. PNC Park, where 4 run leads (and more) go to die

  8. unca_chuck said, on May 23, 2024 at 12:34 pm

I’m sure Bart’s pissed off for giving the Giants a couple free bases. One of which led to Soler scoring on Wisely’s single.

    Missed him getting tossed.

  9. alleykat69 said, on May 23, 2024 at 12:41 pm

    Chapman on fire 🔥 3 HR’s in the series!Last 11 games 405 avg,4HR’s 6 Doubles,13 RBI’s,.500 OBP,.833 slg,1.333 OPS 🔥🔥🔥

But it was Mr.ED&Wisely with the big hits to win it!

And of Bailey throwing out that runner with Luciano making up for his error with a great tag..

  10. unca_chuck said, on May 23, 2024 at 12:44 pm

Soler’s double was key. If he can halfway resemble what he should be we’ll be in good shape.

Luciano is picking up where Fitzstrangeglove left off. Do we teach defense on the farm?

  11. alleykat69 said, on May 23, 2024 at 12:51 pm

Seriously doubt the Pirates 2Aces Skenes &Jones will resign with this cheap Pirates organization when they’re contracts are up.No player talent except Reynolds &Joe at best…

    • Macdog said, on May 23, 2024 at 1:00 pm

      Future Yankees.

  12. zumiee said, on May 23, 2024 at 1:12 pm

Quite a turnaround for Chapman. He was looking like Bore Core material for the first month and a half of the season, and now he’s hitting like an All Star.

  13. Winder said, on May 23, 2024 at 1:13 pm
  14. willedav said, on May 23, 2024 at 1:19 pm

per ESPN Pirates demoted Jack Suwinski back to AAA Indianapolis. Hit 28 HRs last year but currently stuck on 4, batting .174 w .565 OPS. ouch

  15. alleykat69 said, on May 23, 2024 at 1:25 pm

Guess the Pirates feel more comfortable with Rowdy Tellez then Jack Suwinski 🤣

  16. unca_chuck said, on May 23, 2024 at 1:25 pm

Weird shit. The Giants could have easily swept, or been swept.

Let’s hope the Mets series is a little more stable pitching-wise.

Oooh that Snell is still snelly. Dude has to get his shit together at some point.

    • Locojuan said, on May 23, 2024 at 1:47 pm

Now he’s on the paternity list.

    • unca_chuck said, on May 23, 2024 at 1:51 pm

He’s pregnant? Good for him. Maybe he’ll need a C-section and miss a few more starts.

      • Locojuan said, on May 23, 2024 at 2:39 pm

Not to mention those days off he’ll need to do the paternity test on the Maury show.

  18. snarkk said, on May 23, 2024 at 3:02 pm

Nice win, comeback. And, Bart gets a grand salami. Win, win, in my book.

Uh, no — Reynolds and Duvall don’t count as SF outfielders, zum. They’re even worse examples — the Giants failed to see how good they’d become, and got rid of them way too early.

They were drafted, not developed and played for SF. That’s the key, PLAY for the team. We don’t count Zack Wheeler as a Giants pitcher success story, do we? No.

If they traded Matos tomorrow to St. Louis and he became a star, I wouldn’t count him as the first successor in 40 years to Chili, either. He wouldn’t have played for the SF big club for more than a cuppa coffee, becoming another Reynolds and Duvall.

  19. willedav said, on May 23, 2024 at 3:04 pm

Don’t look now but Giants 25-26 have a better record than…Boch’s defending Champion Texas Rangers, 24-27 after getting swept by Phils and Zack wheeler. Phils (37-14) have won 29 of 35 and are 17-3 in May. Rangers have dropped 4 in a row and 12 of 19. 471 winning pct. 9th AL.

Well you have a new responsibility, James. Now remember, the dummy is only used when the Giant pitcher/closer gets a save or just “slams the door” to seal the win. Clint is used for all victories. Can you fit Mr. Ed into your schedule if Wilmer homers?

      • xoot said, on May 23, 2024 at 4:54 pm

Mr Ed is the best. The creaking door is droll. I mean, good. Clint is juvenile.

During Pacers game they had Heineken commercial with brief background music from Just the Two of Us, by Bill Withers/Grover Washington on lp Winelight.

Grover takes 2 good solos and the one on out chorus is really enjoyable, building off withers restating words of the title.

Perry Mason and Albert Einstein have graced us with their presence here.

    • James said, on May 23, 2024 at 6:12 pm

You should definitely listen to their opinions on Tyler Rogers, which I hear are quite favorable. And pretty much anything else they have to say about baseball.

    • xoot said, on May 23, 2024 at 6:16 pm

I don’t think that’s fair, Chuck. James used his skill to do a very nice favor for the blog. wtf have I ever done except upset Zumie?

Oakland’s local to me. I meant the note about Pharoah Sanders to connect him to the Bay Area.

  35. xoot said, on May 23, 2024 at 9:03 pm

this is bizarre. Umps call IF fly rule then add on an extra and final out for nonexistent runner “interference” with a SS who easily made the gratuitous play anyway.

    • unca_chuck said, on May 23, 2024 at 10:36 pm

The runner was in front of the SS. How is the runner interfering when he’s not looking backwards at the SS? Stupid interpretation of the rule.

They keep showing Matos dropping the Cutch home run. He needs a new mitt. Get rid of that blue thing.
