Ok, Take 2
I am still reeling from watching us get waxed in every facet of the game on Wednesday. Let’s see if today brings anything different.

This one game on and one game off thing is REALLY stupid.
Will the site disappear? Are you gonna kill the URL?
Yes, it’s all going away.
I wonder if everything from the Flap disappears from Google. Isn’t the internet forever?
The links will still show up in Google searches until it reindexes and sees that there is no longer content to link to. I’m not sure how long that process takes. Could be a one and done if it sees the base URL oneflapdown77.com doesn’t exist anymore, but probably the individual links will disappear gradually.
Great song
This will stick around:
https://web.archive.org/web/*/https://oneflapdown77.com/*
This post describes how to use google to search the archive:
https://blog.archive.org/2024/09/11/new-feature-alert-access-archived-webpages-directly-through-google-search/
If you do a search right now, it does not seem to provide the extra “More about this page” feature. Maybe that’ll happen once Google itself purges the Flap.
That’s great info
Thanks James!

Not sure if I deserved better or worse…
didn’t notice Bivens isn’t in the pen. With the great Dom gone, we have no African American players on the 26? Huh. Lift every voice my ass.
They’re not going to score off this guy either.
Looks like Ray has his fastball back. At least for now.
i had Grok take a shot at giving me a summary of the blog:
oneflapdown77.com (also known as “The Flap”) is a long-running, independent fan blog dedicated to the San Francisco Giants.Tagline & PurposeIts simple mission: “A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball.” It serves as an unfiltered hangout for passionate Giants fans to discuss games, players, management, and the ups and downs of the season.Tone & StyleThe blog has a very casual, personal, and old-school internet feel. Posts are written mostly by “Flavor” (the same person behind the X account
@1flapdown77). The writing is conversational, emotional, humorous, and often salty — full of frustration during losses, excitement during wins, and plenty of Giants pride mixed with rivalry jabs (especially toward the Dodgers). It feels like a longtime fan venting or celebrating with friends rather than polished journalism.ContentTypical posts include:
It also has light crossover into other Bay Area sports (like the 49ers via the author’s other blog).Activity Level (as of late March 2026)The site was still posting as recently as March 27, 2026 (“Ok, Take 2”), right in the early 2026 season. However, Flavor has announced multiple times that the blog is shutting down (“The Flap is ending”). Posts continue sporadically while it winds down, with the author directing people to stay in touch via
@1flapdown77 on X or his Chuck’s Niner blog.CommunityIt has an active comment section for a small blog — some posts get 20–50+ comments, with occasional spikes over 100 on big topics. The audience is mostly diehard Giants fans who enjoy the no-frills, no-corporate-filter discussion.Overall VibeIt’s not a high-traffic professional site like McCovey Chronicles. Instead, it’s a charming, authentic, low-production fan space with heart, humor, and that classic baseball blog soul. Longtime readers seem to appreciate the real-talk style and the sense of community. In short: A personal Giants fan diary/meeting spot run by Flavor that’s been around for well over a decade and is currently in its final innings. If you like raw, passionate fan perspectives without heavy analytics or corporate polish, it’s a fun (but soon-to-be-archived) spot. GO GIANTS!
I guess it thinks ninersforever is yours.
No range second baseman, shortstop with 3 major fuck ups in 11 innings.
15 innings = 0 runs.
We don’t score
We don’t win
4 hits
A walk!
This is the inning!
Geez Tiger Woods has as many hits then the Giants!
My brother is at the game today with his younger son and grandkids. I’m sure he’s glad to be there, but PO’d at this lackluster Giant performance. So far through 2 games, looks like Giants left their bats in the Phoenix clubhouse.
Vitello already on the hot seat …
Vitello already on the hot seat ?
I won’t miss the WordPress problems…
2 games 2 shutouts 000000000000000000 Giants Baseball beyond Torture!!
New manager so far: Vitell000000000000000000.
o for March.
I don’t know, man… this is just embarrassing. Has the Giants franchise ever been shut out its first two games of a season? On paper, these guys are hitters. There’s just no explaining how and why the bats collectively go silent, as they often did last year too. Are these guys all head cases? There’s only so much the manager can do. If I’m Buster or Vitello, I’m embarrassed. If you’re not ready for opening day, you’re not ready, period.
Well, the Yanks are way better than us. But really, they had more hits in one inning (2nd on Wednesday) than we have in 2 games.
Cam Schlitted all over us.
