Hot, Hot, Hot
Well, here we are in 2nd place, currently holding the longest win streak in MLB (5). Not bad. Buster Posey is giving me the same feeling I had when WIll came up— every at bat brings me to the edge of my seat. And he’s delivering unreal results. I don’t understand why NO ONE pitches this guy inside–he’s proven to every scout in America that he’s got legitimate power to right field. And that arm to second base, wow, we are lucky to have him and to get to watch this story unfold….

That fucking pussy ump was afraid to make that call. Fucking bulkshit pussy ump
wow when was that ball ever foul?
umpiring in this game is just perPLEXing
though, it seems to be equal opportunity shitty umpiring.
Worst umpired inning I can remember in quite a while. And cousins has missed about 10 strikes he’s called balls today
Hope they leave Travis in, put posey behind the plate instead of fucking whitey.
If fucking Franchez would have done his job by hitting the ball in the air, blue would have never had the chance to blow the call. Franchez smokes poll when it comes to situational hitting. Sacmotherfuckingfly you little runt.
Horrible, horrible umping that inning. BF is right. Home fuckin plate ump was afraid to call him safe. His lead foot was PAST the damn plate before the glove hit him, IF it did. Giants should be showering right now after a great comeback win….
I sure hope Bochy and Sabean are happy for carrying 13 pitchers at the moment.
Another fucking asinine idea.
Willied has it right. Posey should now be catching, Ishi at first, for D and offense if the game goes much longer. Whiteside should be out. Panda is still in, he could catch in an emergency…
Snarkk, Pablo left with an injury in the 9th.
MOTHERFUCKER
I just saw the play on ESPN, and it wasn’t even close. Fucking bullshit. It might just cost the Giants a win. Fucking umpires should be suspended when they blow calls like that.
DMD, guess I missed Panda out. What the hell happend? Home plate ump looks like he’s gonna cost us this game, the putz…
Not sure, hurt himself running to second. Rent PR for him. Groin, quad, hammy????
At least the goddamn Dodgers blew their game. 😀
FPs best line of the whole week, “…right down the middle”…..
wow…the winning run he walked…nate with a chance to hero
With 13 pitchers, you don’t have the players to pinch run for Rent. And, guess who is up, too? El Presidente. Nice work, Boch and Sabes. We really need that extra pitcher… Come on Whitey, prove me wrong….
WTF are they letting Whitey hit?
ya…thats a mistake.
cause if they ph nate for whitey, no one left to hit but pitcher…sucks
Fucking joke.
Plain and simple. this was a sweep. Awful call at the plate. The balls and strikes are arguable, that was not.
Hanging slider for strike 3.
Worst loss of the fucking goddamn season.
So help me Christ, if we still have a 13-man staff tomorrow I’m rooting for the Dodgers.
Fucking stupid motherfucking idiots, Bochy and Sabean. No defense EVER for 13 pitchers. Stupid fuckers.
I would have rather seen Nate get walked and ph bumgarner for P. Whitey misses balls by a mile.
It’s one thing when the team loses because of shit they do on the field. It sucks and it’s frustrating. But when they lose because a professional fucking umpire blows an easy fucking call, it’s gut wrenching. Jesus, a fucking Little League ump would have gotten that one right. Utter bullshit.
IF Franchez hit a SF like he *should* have, no call at plate needed. Fuck Freddy Sanchez.
This one’s on the HP ump, and Sabes/Bochy. No excuse for no extra player that would give them room to PH for Whiteside. The 13 pitcher thing is a disaster for making moves on an offensively challenged squad. El P is helpless at the plate against anybody but a scrub. Hell, I would have PH Bumgarner for Whitey, or PH Nate, and if they walk him, then PH Bum. Ya gotta do something to try to tie it up…
Never seen a call at the plate where a guy was called out with his ass sitting on the plate and the tag on his head.
I know, I know, a lot of bad calls each way on this one but that one call would have eliminated two or three more.
Ishi is a god at home, play him dammit.
It was a bang bang play at home. But with that high throw and we array home, cousins HAS to give us that call. Only reason he didn’t was the mets had been on Him all game for his shitty umpiring.
It wasn’t that bang-bang. Cousins is five fucking feet away from the play. Inexcuseable to blow one that easy.
Bautista’s gotta go, bring up anybody that has a fielders glove and can swing a damn bat. Get rid of Rohand before the deadline, he’s doing nothing for this club, wasting a space, and bring up a AA OFer, or trade for an OFer that has an OBP over .300. Keep Dirrty, no trading of a starter….
Fucking Ishi’s lead foot was PAST the damn plate when the glove hit him. The ump was on the wrong side of the play. And I agree, the ump was terrible at balls/strikes the whole game, and got worked by the Mets. So he gave them a bone. This dude should be called onto the ump carpet, horrible, horrible call when it costs the game. They say MLB umps are the best refs in pro sports. Well, we’ve seen bullshit calls just in Giant games this year, I can’t imagine how many are going on all over the league….
Snarkk: agreed across the board. But who do they bring up? Certainly not Belt.
Either way, great comeback by the boys. Now what they need to do is take care of business in LA. I’m sick of losing to those fucks. It’s time to kick some ass, with MadBum leading things off.
I’ll repeat myself, they have 13 pitchers tomorrow—Go Blue!
The ump was out of position to make that call. Shoulda stayed behind the plate maybe moving a bit to his right. He can’t see a tag from where he was especially a close play
No, not Belt, crowded at 1b already. I dunno, maybe Neal, he’s got OPS at about .780. Why the fuck not? I know I’m a broken record, but I’m sick of Rohand wasting a roster spot on this squad…
DMD, they absolutely CANNOT roll into LA with 13 pitchers tomorrow. Not after this screw up. Even Kuip is ripping them for the 13…
Dollars to donuts we’ll see “Gino” Velez tomorrow night in Chavez Ravine.
From Amy G:
Bochy on the home plate umpire calling Ishikawa out, “He missed it, he was safe, but “he” thought he got him.”
I haven’t checked on the aaa hitters in weeks. Let’s just take the best I’d the lot and be done with this 13 pitcher foolishness; especially coming off the break. Total bonehead move by sabean to start the 2nd half with 13 pitchers and everyone rested
Amy G argues with her director more convincingly that Bonehead argues with umpires…
Still concerning: other than yesterday, Giants offense handcuffed by good Mets starters. If we don’t get the super starting pitching, we easily lose 2 of the 4. There is still no margin for Giant’s pitching errors…
And if the umpire makes the correct call, we just swept the Mets out of the gate.
You know, the Giants just won three of four. They didn’t lose three of four. You’re looking for negatives, snarkk. The Giants were a horrible blown call away from four gaming a good team.
I’m lovin the almost sweep. But, there’s no way we’re getting two shutouts every four games the rest of the year. This offense has got to step it up…
The poster pacificat on the Splash obviously lurks ( or posts) here.On the Splash,he has referred to my friend Bea by name. He’s a pretty fucked person.
Alright, onto LA. Time to start winning road series against division opponents. Buenos noches…
Bochy has run out of excuses. Ishikawa has earned PT and has to start. What more does the dude have to prove?
Snarkk, I agree with you on Rowand but not about an outright release. He’s wasting space but try and get something in return at the deadline.
There are lots of MLB capable veterans to play back up catcher. Why don’t the Giants have one? Come to think of it they did. Some guy named Molina…If our management team had the stones to just tell Bengie he was the back up we would be better off than we are now…
I’m probably in the minority but I like Orel hersheiser much better that Joe Morgan…..whitey is a below average back up catcher who gets too many starts. Posey is a young kid he can handle 10 straight days catcher. His legs should be pretty fresh anyways, he played first base, what, 25 games or s0?
PS any word on Sandoval injury? My baseball site says “hip injury”
Dysfunctional across the board today – the roster, the umpiring, the managing. Games like this one are what are going to cost the division. Is there any way to package a deal that includes Rowand and Bochy? We have the worse fucking manager in baseball.
I’m with Dennis and Snaark – utter bullshit. The Giants are creating their own bad luck in these kinds of games. It’s great to say ‘well, we could’ve swept’, but the bottom line is in three of the games they scored a grand total of 6 runs. Without the starters throwing darts they lose 3 of 4 games.
No the bottom line is they won 3 of 4 and today’s was stolen. THAT is the bottom line, asswipe.
“He was safe all the way,” Blanco said. “Everybody was surprised when he called it ‘out.'”
In the GringoFuck world, Bochy never pinch hits with the pathetic Ishikawa to begin with, so everything from that point forward did not happen in the PGFuck sphere…
So, so close to a 4-game sweep. I can’t tell you how much this Jerseyan would’ve savored that. BTW, Cuzzi was the ump who called Mauer’s double along the LF line foul in Game 2 vs. the Yanks last year, a play that seen live was even worse than this one.
I haven’t seen it mentioned, but why was Wilson pitching for a third straight day with the Dodgers series up next?
I’m still stunned that we come back from 2 down in 9th, tie it rather easily. We then have the win stolen by us from a call so bad we might see it less than 3 times a yr. It would be almost funny if it weren’t so sickening…
I’ve softened a bit on the deJesus thing. If we get him for little I could see it as a good fit. Pat the bat can PH and get some spot starts. It would make our offense better just don’t give up either dirrrrty or bum for him
And there’s really no scenario I see where Bum gets traded. Sabes held on to him this long there s no way he trades him now….
Wilson pitched cause he’s a horse and that’s what u do in the 10tj inning tied, at home….
That’s so Polly for you in a nutshell, arguing he was safe when it’s completely irrelevant at this point. Let’s discuss reality: he was called out regardless if it was the right call or not. The bigger problem is that if he was called out because the Mets were in his head, then it is the mangers job to manage that and turn the tide back into our favor to avoid those very calls going against us. (I can save your rebuttal which will be something like: ‘no, you fuckwad, it’s easy to look backwards and judge when in fact the numbers support the theory that this should’ve worked out in our favor, and according to CHONE, he was safe’).
And Twinfuck, they had scored just 1 run the previous 8 innings so pinning a loss on the umpire is shallow at best. If they took care of business earlier, they wouldn’t have had to place their fate in an umpires decision. Carrying 13 fucking pitchers with this starting staff??? Heads should roll for that – it shows blatant incompetence.
Then forget that part of it if it’s too much for you, you’re still confused on what “bottom line” means. They won 3 of 4 is the bottom line, not how they did it.
Flav, if you’ve seen even a little of K-Rod this year, it wasn’t all that surprising.
So after the blown call on Ishikawa it was Bochy’s job to get the umps to blow a call to give them the game back. That is GringoFuck’s argument and that’s why he’s the joke of the flap and everywhere else he posts…
Listen, fuckshit,. when the other team says the guy was safe, it’s not “pinning the loss” on the ump. He done pinned it on himself, turdlock.
But yes, let’s discuss “reality”: they’ve won 9 of 11, they’ve closed ground in the play off chase, and they have 3 with the Bums coming up. They’re in good shape. THAT is reality..
Agree to disagree as per the norm.
They won 3 of 4 with their starting pitching. You see that as a positive, I see it as a troubling sign of another repeat performance of last year (ahhh…but in the Polly world, history is worthless) unless changes are made. Even if Timmy and Zito throw ‘average quality starts’, they most likely lose 3 of 4.
That means either beef up the lineup to minimize the margin of error that Bochy maximizes, get rid of Bochy, or do the super combo of both.
You make the call: http://tinyurl.com/34wm3mc
‘That is GringoFuck’s argument and that’s why he’s the joke of the flap and everywhere else he posts…’
Coming from the guy who moderates/controls and is the self-proclaimed judge and jury of ‘all them blogs’. Do you have a life outside of typing on your fucking computer???
And for the record, I only have time to ‘invest’ in one blog at a time and it happen to be here on the flap.
Here’s reality: If we still have 13 pitchers tomorrow, I’m rooting for the Dodgers. Fucking asinine.
they scored 8 runs last night dude, and what shoulda been 4 today. PG, you seem particularly concerned with offense. Why don’t you become a Blue Jays fan? That team is leading the league in HR’s by a wide margin. You’ll love ’em. Don’t let their .241 team batting average and 11.5 games back in the standings get you down. Just “oooh and ahhh!” at how far the little white ball travels…….
“They won 3 of 4 with their starting pitching. You see that as a positive, I see it as a troubling sign of another repeat performance of last year (ahhh…but in the Polly world, history is worthless) unless changes are made. Even if Timmy and Zito throw ‘average quality starts’, they most likely lose 3 of 4.”
You thought they wouldn’t have to pitch well to win this year? Forget Polly and Doomer, we’re talking serious mental incapacity. They just won 7 of 11 on a road trip with the pitching struggling. Now they win 3 of 4 as the pitching picks back up. That’s HOW IT WORKS, dumbshit…
Not only that, but if Ishi isn’t in the starting lineup tomorrow, I’ll walk across the street to the sporting goods store and buy a fucking Dodger’s cap to wear while I cheer them on. Fucking asinine that Bochy won’t start him vs lefties. Sick of that shit. No more.
Sacre Bleu! A member of our minions, rooting for the hated dark evil empire? Never!
Dennis, come back to the light . . .
“Do you have a life outside of typing on your fucking computer???” I’ve had a life you would envy, my poor fuck. Don’t go there.
“They won 3 of 4 with their starting pitching.”
Uhh, isn’t that the team’s strenght? Look, PG. I can agree with you that another bat would be great for this line-up but not at the expense of giving up any of the starters. If a guy like Dejesus or even Hart could be added for some combination of prosepcts and maybe Ishikawa or Nate I am cool with that. Otherwise I see the club as underperforming prior to this latest hot streak. Its a long season and the down cycle is inevitable. If that horrible stretch prior to this latest tear is the worst it gets they’ll be fine.
And who the fuck is James McDonald? If I’m going to be rooting for him, I’d at least like to know something about my starting pitcher.
Too bad, as it usually is, that we lost, but no cause for shame or sorrow. The whole thing was on the Bumpire. Ishikawa won the game in the bottom of the ninth, but we wuz robbed.
Pickles, is your sour mood tonight related to the high probability that you were weaned on dill pickle juice?
There are some administrative matters which need attention. Ishikawa deserved to start. The Whiteside flopperooli cost some probable runs as he was totally not up to the task of keeping rallies going. Instead, he deflated them. If Posey needs the occasional rest, there are, in house and potentially in-house ,at least two possible solutions. Believe it or not the Giants currently have a third guy who has donned the Tools of Ignorance. His name is Pablo. His backname is spelled S.A.N.D.O.V.A.L. Whatever the reasons the Brass have not to put him behind the plate should not be universal and mandatory. So, if he replaces Posey behind the dish once every ten days or so, his other skills are not likely to erode and it is not a high level probability that he will get all banged up. Other solution fairly near to hand, right there at Fresno, is Steve Holm, who is probably no worse than Eli and may be a tad better. And yes, there are experienced backup catchers around who could be had for cheap. Eli’s performance at the dish today qualifies him for a quick spin on the Fresnobus.
Second administrative matter is the bullpen. After a great start Chris Ray has disappointed lately. Maybe its from lack of work or whatever, but the team does need to get a steady hand for the late innings. Trading a prospect or two may be the road to go there.
Thirdly, there was a general lack of clutch in a number of RISP situations today. I’d be really comfortable with Freddy Sanchez batting eighth rather than second and will reiterate my preference for a prospects swap for Josh Willingham of the Nats who is available from a team which desperately needs better pitching depth. Giants have plenty of prospective starters and relievers in the pipeline. One of Henry Sosa, Daryl Maday or David Mixon, all of whom can be projected as MLB starting prospects, should be the centerpiece of such a deal. If Washington is not sufficiently acommodating, the second option, perhaps for a somewhat different prospect package, would be David DeJesus of Kansas City. One of that duo in the two-hole and the Giants have a top to bottom stacked lineup.
Pitching: For the most part Jonathan Sanchez matched Johann Santana today. Absolutely no shame in that. Four consecutive sterling starting performances from the best Rotation in baseball.
LaBumbos are reeling right now after getting the stuffing knocked outta them by the Cards. They are heading home to LaLaLand with their tails between their legs already. Tomorrow, they throw a newbie against MadBum. I like the odds. Then its Kershaw, recently shelled, against Timmy. Then its Lady Billingsley vs. Zicasso. Giants should take two of three….maybe a sweep if they add a position player and drop the supernumerary reliever by gametime tomorrow or at least during the series.
Ground lost against the Padres and the Rox today, but it can be made up. Giants should lodge a major protest on the bad umpiring, as a matter of principle if nothing else. We know now that the Panda is making a comeback and that at least four of the five starters are good for the long haul. Another outstanding performance by Bumgarner against the LaBumbos tomorrow makes it FIVE top-notch starters. Turnaround in the divisional series begins tomorrow.
