A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Just for the FFFFFFFFFFF of it…….

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on July 23, 2010

I thought I’d throw up a new thread. Nothing to say. Baha. After almost nailing the score cold last night I thought I would again put in writing my bet (I never bet against the Giants but I almost always post when and what I do bet on their games): went with the under. I also did a 3 team parlay Giants/Mets/A’s. I’m awful at parlays but I play them anyways πŸ™‚

So what’s the O/U on Dirrrrty’s strike out total tonight? I’ll say he gets 6……

What was the over/under tonight? I think runs are going to be scored…

pretty high…tough bet. I still think we may score 5-6 runs…

I like Dirty with 8 strikeouts with this horrid D-Head lineup…

  3. Del Mar Dennis's avatar delmardennis said, on July 23, 2010 at 6:33 pm

I’ll give Dirty two more and make it an 8-Ball, or 8-Strikeouts in this case.

Wow, 8. I could see it. I don’t think this Lu is gonna do much but Edwina is a total crapshoot. I’m guessing he pitches all right tonight but who knows

  7. Del Mar Dennis's avatar delmardennis said, on July 23, 2010 at 6:47 pm

36-11 when scoring first. Courtesy of the Huffster, we have a chance to make it 37.

“ownage” is dumb, overrated and k/k obsess on it way too much. 10-15 at bats doesn’t bean anything. Maybe the hitter caught the pitcher when he was hot. Maybe it was the other way around. Kuip just harped about ownage that Johnson had on dirrrrrrrty. What about the 1-13 huff had v Edwina?

  9. twinfan's avatar twinfan said, on July 23, 2010 at 6:58 pm

Amazing thing with Dirty is almost every game you can see in just one inning why you love him and why he drives you nutso

More like that first inning and we may have a reprise of the Shootout at the OK Corral. Different town. Same state.

  15. giant head's avatar giant head said, on July 23, 2010 at 7:12 pm

Nate should have been trying to move them over, even a grounball to the right side. Should have been runners on second and third one out, Whitecant at least cant hit into a force DP….ground ball from him may have scored a run…

  16. stixwiz's avatar stixwiz said, on July 23, 2010 at 7:12 pm

El Presidente: Also responsible for Janchez leading off the third. Why not Holm? Giants did have Ronnie Paulino for about 24 hours, trading him off for a sack of used jockstraps.

  17. Craig's avatar Craig said, on July 23, 2010 at 7:13 pm

Whitey sux but he’s in a weird spot. Every time he subs fir posey he’s got the weight of living up to what posey would do at the plate. It’s also possible that his overall suckitude has finally kicked in. Anyway, he needs to go. Asap. Phantom injury his ass if u have to. Whitey can’t keep destroying our offense when he plays….

  18. twinfan's avatar twinfan said, on July 23, 2010 at 7:20 pm

As I said when he WAS hitting, his short term success was the worst fucking thing that could have happened. They really did have a better shot there if they had Nate try to bunt the guys over and see if AZ pitched to Eli.

    • wswinb4igo's avatar wswinb4igo said, on July 23, 2010 at 7:25 pm

      • twinfan's avatar twinfan said, on July 23, 2010 at 7:26 pm

Well, at least no DP and Sanchez bats then instead of leading off.

    • wswinb4igo's avatar wswinb4igo said, on July 23, 2010 at 7:30 pm

Nate was his best shot to score that inning tho…if he bunts him, he surrendered scoring chance.

Classic dumb “ownage” stat: snyder is 3 for 11 with a bomb agianst dirrrrty. Not bad. But 7 fucking k’s? WTF does it mean? Nothing! We’re talking about 11 at bats!!!!!!

  20. Craig's avatar Craig said, on July 23, 2010 at 7:24 pm

I’m glad kruk hasn’t been spending any time “educating” us on why/when/how Freddy sanchez is gonna one day remind us dumb giants fans of Robby Thompson….

  21. stixwiz's avatar stixwiz said, on July 23, 2010 at 7:25 pm

If Sabean doesn’t pull off another move during the next few days, the least he can do is to pick up a backup catcher for when Buster needs a day off. Man! That LU sure looks hollow without the presence of Posey.

  26. stixwiz's avatar stixwiz said, on July 23, 2010 at 7:47 pm

Travis sure has turned around his road ABs this season. Depending on his actual splits Bochy should give him plenty of opportunities.

  27. stixwiz's avatar stixwiz said, on July 23, 2010 at 7:49 pm

Ya know, if Sabean does not go out and get Willingham of someone similar for the two-hole, Travis might not be the worst possible option. Franchez is far more likely to get it together, IMHO, where he’s not expected to move up the runner.

  28. Craig's avatar Craig said, on July 23, 2010 at 8:00 pm

Clown. I’m down but he’s gonna have to figger out how to hit the ball more than 200 feet if he’s gonna lead that charge….

  29. twinfan's avatar twinfan said, on July 23, 2010 at 8:01 pm

They won’t put Travis in the 2…
Speculation that they’re showcasing Nate and Travis but just as much it can be giving them a chance to show why they SHOULDN’T trade them. With Belt in the wings, Travis has probably quelled any talk for a 1st baseman. Nate, not so much. Solid defense, but still just not grabbing his chance.

You know Holm is no better then Whitey. In fact i think he’s worse.Whitey’s not going anywhere.Especially after they gave him a TV special with Sanchez on Gmag.2 guys from totally opposite backgrounds, work together and get no hitter.

Typical Dirty outing, you look up and wonder how the hell he’s only allowed the one run.

He pitched well to get out of that. But he was pitching against the D-backs. And they completely helped him get out of that. I swear to God, if Gibson managed them for a few years he wouldn’t look like ageless anymore……

  44. alleykat's avatar alleykat said, on July 23, 2010 at 8:34 pm

  45. stixwiz's avatar stixwiz said, on July 23, 2010 at 8:36 pm

NOW, do you see why i call the dude Huff the Magic Dragon? RBI #56 (my magic number) . If Laroche had gone with Sabean’s offer we might have been stuck with that stiff instead. Aubrey is also hovering around a .350 RP/AB ratio. No Posey tonight so Huff had to improvise. He’s not really that far behind Prince Fielder in dingers.

  46. Del Mar Dennis's avatar delmardennis said, on July 23, 2010 at 8:37 pm

Henry and Baggs said Huff had a TERRIBLE BP. Was quoted as saying, “I’m going to go 0-for-4 with 4 Ks.”

So much for batting practice as an indicator. Have another shitty session tomorrow, AH.
