A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

At What End of the Rotation are We at Right Now?

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on August 20, 2010

Dirrrrty saved us yesterday and now we turn to MadBum for another necessary step-up stud performance. This Dirrrrty/Bum exacta  feels preferable to a Lincecum/Cain debacle, doesn’t it? Not sure where Zito fits in, he’s a shaky 3, I guess. We don’t really have a NUMERO UNO  these days, as is evidenced by the starting staffs stunning failure to ever notch a win for themselves. Dirrrrty is the only guy to “stand out” in the win column with his bounty of two over the last 3 weeks. That’s freaking pathetic…..

This is a dangerous time for the team with the starting pitching laboring on the edge of unreliable and marginally competent. But Dirrrrty’s performance last night can’t be understated. It was huge, maybe the best start of the year for one of those 5…….

I thought we matched up well with Philly but they easily took 2 from us. I feel the same way about St Louis, I think we match up well with them. Regardless of what happens tonight, the spotlight will be squarely on Timmy tomorrow. We can’t win this thing without a #1 to carry us the rest of the year. Dirrrrty isn’t a #1, despite his 2 (two) victories over the last 17 days. Mr Cy Young is that guy. Or maybe he’s not, we’ll find out soon enough…….

A MLB caliber SS makes that play. Fontenot doesn’t fit that description. Not his fault he’s playing there, but if Uribe is out for any extended period, Sabean better go find one. This isn’t going to work.

McGeeheehee clopped a tater with a pair of ducks on the pond against LeBlanc, making it a 5-5 ballgame in Milwaukee with the Pads learning a bit about heavy hitting teams. Of course the Dagos went and got to Gallardo for the same # of Rs.

Just a bit of rest did wonders for Huff the Magic Dragon. This game is looking good. Anyone know exactly who and/or what the Cards got for Ludwick from the Dagos? Tomorrow is huge. Our 4/5 have just thrown 2 shut down games. Tim lincecum has to step up and pitch like a cy young pitcher. No more losing to the “3’s” of the league. The momentum needs to be shouldered on him and continued…

Bozo: You beat me to it on Torres. Great to see him back to contributing. Now it looks as if Burrell has chilled off a bit. But if three or four of the hitters can contribute in a game there’s a decent chance of a win. The two runts have been doing their bit tonight. Something you need for a winner.

  52. Giant Head's avatar Giant Head said, on August 20, 2010 at 7:38 pm

Wilson providing the Sarah Bernhardt dramatic performance once again in the 9th, meaning the hits ended up even at 13-13, but the runs sure did not. Nice win. Bumgarner brought it tonight. Solid, economical performance. The runts were on a romp, providing a stinger at the tail. Pair of Posey doubles keep him high on the ROY list. More Panda signs showing up around the bamboo grove. Huff back in the groove.

Lots to love tonight with victory number 69.
