A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Down 2 Games to 1

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on October 25, 2014

I wonder what it feels like to shell out $700 for a seat to a World Series game and watch your team lose. Serious question. I’ve been to one game, in 2010, and the memories from that game are as strong and as awesome as the day of the game. But would they sustain over the time had the Giants lost? It’s gotta feel like a win, as fan, to not pay the $700 and to not have to watch your team lose (in person).

It was fantastic to see Pawlie Kokonuts and Sarge yesterday. Freaking Pawlie was getting interviewed by someone associated with the Giants within the first 5 minutes that we hung out. Sarge braved the knot hole experience. He sent me some photos that I’ll post later….

Last night’s loss felt like a lot of regular season losses–can’t hit, can’t win. The pitching was fine. If the Giants can’t figure out a way to score some mid/late game runs against the Royal bullpen I don’t know what to say. Other hitters have broken through against them. This “HGH” stuff is overblown. They’re just men.

The weather stinks right now. Cold. Windy. It was raining earlier this morning. Weather God’s say the game isn’t in jeopardy. I know that several Flappers are hooking up pre-game to toast The FU and to socialize. Have fun up there, boys, sorry I couldn’t make it today.

Maybe Bochy should have given thought to starting Duffy and Arias at 2nd and 3rd for the pure rightie on lefty matchup. Panda looks shit awful right-handed. Voggy has just pitched himself out of a contract for next year with the Giants…

Hopefully Petit remembers how to pitch…

We can’t even think about Game 7 right now but I would seriously be thinking of Petit starting….

They’ll need him to relieve Peavy in Game 6 if we get to it…

Win or lose this game – I have to hope Pence “calls out” his team mates with some sort of fiery speech. This shit can’t stand going forward, especially from a team with World Series experience, which I still view as a distinct advantage over the Royals (even though they might be better then us athletically).

Maybe he needs to pull them into the clubhouse after these at – bats for an ass-lighter…

One thing I really don’t like is that there are too many fucking Royal fans in the park. Who fucking sells their playoff tickets???? And then to Royal fans??? …motherfuckers…the old angry Giant Head is re-emerging

  8. Flavor's avatar Flavor said, on October 25, 2014 at 6:54 pm

I know we haven’t exactly scalded the ball, but Bochy has brought less than his best when it comes to pitching. He has ignored Petit time and time again for who? For what? Fucking Voggy? Fucking Machi? I’m disgusted with his managing this post season

    • gianthead's avatar gianthead said, on October 25, 2014 at 6:55 pm

And I think we all realized that it was a must start for Morse as well…

  9. Flavor's avatar Flavor said, on October 25, 2014 at 6:54 pm

half the game is over, NOW you’re bringing Morse in? Fuck Bochy.

  10. snarkk's avatar snarkk said, on October 25, 2014 at 6:55 pm

None of that clusterF inning goes down if Voggy just friggin locates first base. Instead he’s 6 feet off the bag. Wtf??

The lefties can’t do anything against this guy.

    • zumiee's avatar zumiee said, on October 25, 2014 at 7:06 pm

It’s easy to second guess, but Bochy could have batted Morse for Blanco, and moved Perez to CF.

        Crossed my mind too, zum…

      • zumiee's avatar zumiee said, on October 25, 2014 at 7:10 pm

The broadcasters were making a great point about using Morse before the big 3 relievers get in there.
Plus it would have been against a lefty. And there was only a lefty in their bullpen at the time.

  16. Flavor's avatar Flavor said, on October 25, 2014 at 7:05 pm

We have been playing a step behind this game all game. Waiting on Petit. Not starting Morse. Pitching fucking POS Machi. I need something good to happen to change my mood.

  17. Flavor's avatar Flavor said, on October 25, 2014 at 7:09 pm

Voggy struggling and fighting his way through his start was BS. We have a guy who has completely caught lightning in a bottle this year (Petit) and Bochy waits until all hell breaks loose before pitching him. It just makes no sense at all. And I could care less about Hosmer’s double, Petit will shut these fuckers down.

Got in fairly late last night, fired up the laptop, and read a few stories about the Series. Between the stories themselves, and the comments from readers, I was feeling really discouraged: just seemed like a lot of hatin’ going on toward our San Francisco Giants. I had the feeling that everyone except SF fans is enjoying the very real possibility of KC winning this, even delighting in the G’s not looking very sharp. Woke up this morning really feeling like the team needed to charge out of the gate to stop all that shit. Agree that Bochy seemed frozen this game 4, which is something we’re just not used to. Don’t know what happened to our mojo, but someone needs to crank it up, and soon. Would be a huge turnaround to win this game and move forward from there. Step it up, boys!

  28. willedav's avatar willedav said, on October 25, 2014 at 7:28 pm

I think it’s over reacting to get after Bochy, myself. Vogs got done in by two IF dribblers and a bloop hit in front of Blanco. Hindsight I think Bochy sends Rags out there to calm him down a pitch or two into the AB of the guy he walked after Vogs f-ed up the play at 1b. He was obviously steamed at himself and then couldn’t get Infante out as he left a pitch up. That was the big AB so far. If you want to question Bochy for not getting Petit up to face Infante, OK…but I didn’t see anyone posting about it then.
And Machi didn’t hurt them, and he didn’t waste another PH. Morse and Ishi still available for late game heroics.
Petit is in there now and the bats have to get them back in it…as Posey grounds out again with RISP.
And Pence comes through and it’s a 1 run game. Relax and enjoy guys, long way to go and Yost is straining.

    • zumiee's avatar zumiee said, on October 25, 2014 at 7:29 pm
