Another Rain Game

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on May 5, 2016

It’s another “Uh oh, Matt Cain pray for rain” game. We are going to have a little weather in the Bay today but not enough to halt Cain’s ascension to the mound this evening. So, unfortunately, the only thing *raining* will be Colorado hitters raining bombs down on vulnerable fans in the bleachers.

Krukow has the KNBR morning show today at 7:30am so if you want to hear some of his best blather about Peavy you should tune in. I think you can stream it. I’ll listen to it in my car on the way to work and chime in about it later.

Hey, if he gets blasted that’s now 40% of the starting rotation that can no longer be ignored. And my main man BigTimeTimmyJimJim has his showcase tomorrow. Just something to think about……

And now the night’s only drama is gone: Padres’ Rea gives up first hit vs. Mets with two outs in the 7th.

      Only in the baseball universe…

  2. chipower9 said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:04 pm

The Rockies? This sucks…Sharks and Predators just starting OT knotted at 3. I will take playoff hockey over this bullshit any fucking day.

    • unca_chuck said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:09 pm

Can’t find the hockey game. Just got Driect TV and there are like 4000 channels.

Duvall may be hitting one bomb after another, but Vinny is delivering.

    • zumiee said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:08 pm

He’ll be delivering pizza in a few days.

  4. zumiee said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:05 pm

Infinite inning that refuses to end.

  5. chipower9 said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:06 pm

Sharks game is intense. There is no love lost between these two teams. It is on!

  6. zumiee said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:09 pm

The inning never ended, and we all lived forever.

  7. Macdog said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:10 pm

    Bring back Broadway!

  8. blade3colorado said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:12 pm

In a perverse way, this inning is “must see” tv.

    • chipower9 said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:55 pm

The only must watch tv tonight is the Sharks game. They are tied after one OT. Going to the 2nd OT (fifth period) soon.

    Stinko de Mayo…

      Gold.

  10. wilcojoe said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:15 pm

I almost wish someone was running away with this division so we would be forced to rebuid our pitching staff. I would have no problem going into sell mode if it meant we could get some young arms. I fear for what the future holds with this pitching staff.

    • djloo27 said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:26 pm

They really have nothing to trade except for Panik who they wouldn’t deal. Everyone else is either locked up long term or has no particular trade value…

    • wilcojoe said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:30 pm

Pence, Belt and Crawford would have the most value.

  11. blade3colorado said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:18 pm

Cha Ching! Cha Ching! We broke the record . . . umm, whoops. Never mind.

  12. unca_chuck said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:18 pm

Shit, all we need are 2 touchdowns. These guys are making Cain look good.

  13. djloo27 said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:18 pm

    Can they get 30?

  14. blade3colorado said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:20 pm

Thirteen runs in one inning. In little league, they would have called the Mercy Rule.

  15. bassbaldy said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:22 pm

    oh .. my .. dog .. shit ..

  16. alleykat69 said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:22 pm

Have they called ” the no mercy rule yet?”

  17. Macdog said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:23 pm

( ) are now a standard part of Giants linescores.

  18. snarkk said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:23 pm

Wow, I was having dinner with snarkk family, came back from the dinner table, and Giants are down two TDs.
    Bring in Kap !…

  19. Macdog said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:24 pm

It’s 17-3, shouldn’t Posey be out of the game?

  20. unca_chuck said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:26 pm

Like Lon Simmons said back in one of Joe Montana’s first starts, when down 35-3 at the half.

This is going to be one of the worst 49er games ever, or the greatest comeback in 49er history.

  21. djloo27 said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:27 pm

If they can get within 10, they might still have a shot…

  22. Macdog said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:28 pm

Can we get the Rockies’ third-base coach? He seems to be doing a good job.

    • snarkk said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:29 pm

      He’s getting a lot of practice…

  23. djloo27 said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:30 pm

Willie Mays is 85 on the east coast.
    Happy birthday!

    • chipower9 said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:59 pm

      Say Hey!

  24. sandog said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:30 pm

If I’m Heston, I’m laughing my ass off. I know he’s not an ace, but he won 12 games last year. These two guys won’t win 12 games combined for the rest of their careers. I’d put the over/under at 7, and that feels high.
Heston needs to be in this rotation, stat. And yes, it does suck that Petit is gone.

    • chipower9 said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:59 pm

Heston got his ass handed to him last night. He isn’t fairing too well in Sacto. He is NOT an option. If they bring him up for either Peavy or Cain, we are really in deep shit.

  25. snarkk said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:31 pm

Like BF, I’m interested to see tomorrow how Kruk spins this tire fire, and Cain’s free fall into crapitude. His pitches are like balloons with hit me signs…

  26. blade3colorado said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:33 pm

Anyone else notice that Kelly held up Posey on essentially the same type of hit he got nailed on earlier? Does this mean he is improving?

  27. snarkk said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:34 pm

Hey, at this point, I’m up for them DLing both Cain and Peavy, and bringing up anybody with an arm south of 30 years old. Seriously, nobody in the minors can be worse than these two. Cain is officially now into his third season of stealing money on his deal. Cain’s contract is every bit as bad as the bad Zito days…

  28. snarkk said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:36 pm

Anybody looking forward to the Blue Jays batting against Peavy? Boy Howdy, that’s going to be an adventure…

    • Macdog said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:37 pm

The good news is they’re much tougher on lefties.

  29. blade3colorado said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:37 pm

Touchdown! Another one and a field goal to tie.

    • snarkk said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:40 pm

What a story it would be…

    • blade3colorado said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:39 pm

Kong with 3 bombs. Probably his best game ever.

  30. Macdog said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:38 pm

This chump can’t even get through 5 with a 14-run lead, that’s too funny.

  31. Paul Sorensen said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:39 pm

Peavy’s contract would be no big deal to eat. Whattaya do with Cain? Yoiks…..

    • snarkk said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:41 pm

DL Cain for a few months, like they did to Zito with a supposed bad foot. Outta sight, outta mind…

    • blade3colorado said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:41 pm

Peavy as 3rd base coach and Cainer as assistant pitching coach?

  32. djloo27 said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:42 pm

I think the Chiefs beat the Raiders 17-7 in the AFL title game before winning SB-IV…

  33. Macdog said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:53 pm

Warriors gave up one less in the 4th quarter vs. the Blazers the other night than the Giants in the 5th.

  34. bassbaldy said, on May 5, 2016 at 9:59 pm

This game is so ridiculous the AtBat app stopped working.

  35. chipower9 said, on May 5, 2016 at 10:02 pm

Glad I have missed most of tonight’s clusterfuck. Will be interesting to see how Timmy throws tomorrow.

    • pawliekokonuts said, on May 5, 2016 at 10:25 pm

sign him even if he can reach 60 feet 5 inches

    • unca_chuck said, on May 5, 2016 at 10:25 pm

Still can’t find the hockey game and nhl tonight isn’t working.

    Gillaspie looked like dizzy there.

  37. pawliekokonuts said, on May 5, 2016 at 10:28 pm

Cain and Mazzaro outpeavyed and outbroadwayed Peavy and Broadway. Our 4 and 5 starters and select relievers now specialize in the 12- and 13-run half-inning.

  38. pawliekokonuts said, on May 5, 2016 at 10:32 pm

From the East Coast, Happy 85th Birthday, Willie.

    • djloo27 said, on May 5, 2016 at 10:33 pm

If you’re still chasing him Pawlie, he shouldn’t be too hard to catch…

        bam!

  39. bassbaldy said, on May 5, 2016 at 10:33 pm

Belt is whiner but in this instance that called 3rd strike wasn’t even close … Guess umps have had enough of this shit show .. Sad to report, atBat working again.

  40. bassbaldy said, on May 5, 2016 at 10:35 pm

Carrying 13 pitchers was a wise move by Boch .. I suppose he had a premonition.

  41. Carstie Clausen said, on May 5, 2016 at 11:59 pm

Got two phone calls after 1:30 A.M. by a drunk i hadn’t seen in years. Seeing i was downstairs i turned on the puter to see how things went only to find that Cain is no longer able and that his reliever could have used some Mazola cooking oil to get outta that frame.

    • bassbaldy said, on May 6, 2016 at 12:14 am

It was beyond the pail Stix … beyond belief, beyond reason, beyond … the beyond! However, as stinky as the pitching was an almost even greater concern is the fool we have coaching 3rd base!! WTF?!?

As one Flapper so aptly pointed out, sending Posey was not only stooopid, but it was also dangerous! Kelly has crossed the line when he is endangering our players with his blatant incompetence.

I’ve never called in to the KNBR post game show with either Lurie or Woodson but I was sorely tempted after this debacle .. Especially when it became obvious near the end of the show that the neither callers nor the host where going to address the situation in the coaching box at 3rd.
