A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

BeanTown BeatDown?

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on June 7, 2016

I actually think Suarez is going to do ok tonight. Boston likes to blast the ball out of the yard and that doesn’t really work at AT&T. Plus, they’re playing NL rules in an unfamiliar yard. I dunno, it just feels like he might not get blasted.

And who put this game on the schedule? Boston flies all the way out here for 2 interleague games? Then back to Minnesota? I bet they’re stoked about this trip. lulz.

It’s too bad Cleveland is doing well. I would have liked to have seen the Giants pick up Rajai Davis for 2 months.

Assuming they pick up a guy without a big contract, who are some of the names you’d like to see us look at? I’m on record as going with Carl Crawford just for the jokes on LA.

I just love his whole demeanor and approach when he is in the batter’s box. The dude just looks like a natural hitter. Probably my overall favorite Giant on this roster.

I like where his hands are and his set up in the box. He doesn’t screw around with wasted motion, very compact. He should be hitting better than he is. I bet his back is hurting, and they aren’t saying. Sometimes when he runs he is very upright like something is hurting…

Flav called it on Suarez in his opening remarks. Doesn’t matter to me whether the Sox hadn’t seen him before. Point is, he pitched a helluva game, a can’t lose proposition. Bochy would never do it, but the thought of flipping Suarez and Peavy as starter and longman kinda intrigues me.

    • chipower9's avatar chipower9 said, on June 7, 2016 at 9:04 pm

Yes, he did. Good call, Flav. I would do that in a fucking heartbeat, but you’re right, Bochy would never flip Peavy like that. One of Bochy’s few faults, iMO…

What pisses me off about that Journey song is that every baseball team plays it. There should be a rule that only teams that have won the World Series in the last 5 years can play it, with one addendum – if you’ve won it 3 times in the last 6 years, then you have dibs for 25 years.

I usually don’t care for Lyons either, but I think he has been good tonight. He seems to have less of a vibe of “everything I say must be clever or funny” about him compared to his National broadcast days.

Speaking of hands, Duffy was hit in the hand on the 30th and I think he might still be affected by it. He’s still walking a lot, hardly strikes out, and his defense is superb. Should he be moved down in the order. Definitely . . . but who replaces him in the 3 hole? That’s the million dollar question . . . Personally, I love the guy and I think he’ll figure it out again. He was too good last season for me not to think that.
