BeanTown BeatDown?
I actually think Suarez is going to do ok tonight. Boston likes to blast the ball out of the yard and that doesn’t really work at AT&T. Plus, they’re playing NL rules in an unfamiliar yard. I dunno, it just feels like he might not get blasted.
And who put this game on the schedule? Boston flies all the way out here for 2 interleague games? Then back to Minnesota? I bet they’re stoked about this trip. lulz.
It’s too bad Cleveland is doing well. I would have liked to have seen the Giants pick up Rajai Davis for 2 months.
Assuming they pick up a guy without a big contract, who are some of the names you’d like to see us look at? I’m on record as going with Carl Crawford just for the jokes on LA.
Now, see? Panik is slicker than snot on a brass door knob going up the middle. Smooooth.
I just love his whole demeanor and approach when he is in the batter’s box. The dude just looks like a natural hitter. Probably my overall favorite Giant on this roster.
I like where his hands are and his set up in the box. He doesn’t screw around with wasted motion, very compact. He should be hitting better than he is. I bet his back is hurting, and they aren’t saying. Sometimes when he runs he is very upright like something is hurting…
Looks like Suarez goes out there with a minimum of 4 pitches. Crafty.
Very nice outing by Suarez…
Kontos this season:
http://tinyurl.com/zapx3et
LMAO…
I can’t get it to load. What is it…the “Wish You Were Here” album cover?
Shit
Maybe they should check Brown for a bad thumb.
Ouch. Come on Brown…
Flav called it on Suarez in his opening remarks. Doesn’t matter to me whether the Sox hadn’t seen him before. Point is, he pitched a helluva game, a can’t lose proposition. Bochy would never do it, but the thought of flipping Suarez and Peavy as starter and longman kinda intrigues me.
Yes, he did. Good call, Flav. I would do that in a fucking heartbeat, but you’re right, Bochy would never flip Peavy like that. One of Bochy’s few faults, iMO…
Kontos setting up the DP there…
OK, time for Lopez to earn his coin v Big Papi. Has BPapi taken some urine tests so far this season?…
Bosox with an all black American outfield tonight. I like it. When I was a kid that wouldn’t have been a big deal, but these days that’s a real rarity.
For the Red Sox? Hell ya it was a big deal they were worse than the Yanks to have any black players.
The first one Pumpsie Green was a local guy from El Cerrito or Richmond. Taught and coached ball here for a long time after short career
I think in general it is super rare, but I hear you that it is ironic it’s the Red Soxof all teams doing it.
What the fuck.
With Ortiz running you have to make that tag
How do you F up that tag? You HAVE to tag that guy, Papi runs like a bulldozer…
what a lucky mother for ya. Craw had time to reach down and get him with big butt plodding to 1b.
Maybe Loo is right about Crawford’s gut. He couldn’t bend over enough to tag Young.
Crawford could’ve fallen on him and thrown out Papi from his knees…
Lopez got it done, that’s on Crawford. You have to tag the lead runner for Pete’s sake, even if you tackle the guy. That leaves the lead run in scoring position…
Sheesh, you guys are a tough crowd . . . I thought it was a good move by Young and in the heat of the moment, Craw probably thought he had to expedite the throw.
Couldn’t have said it better myself…
Papi runs up the line like a water buffalo. He had time.
Yeah I know, but like Blade said, I think his internal clock took over–even if he was aware he was dealing with a slow runner—which I bet he was.
Strick’s got a future as a goalie…
Whoa! Nice play Strick . . . Faster than that dude in X Men: Apocalypse.
Taco Bell commercial of the guy staring at the museum hunting exhibits that look like him cracks me up. The dudes facial expression abilities are Iguodala-esque. (With a tip of that to Zumie on that reference)
By the by…..did anyone notice, get, or appreciate my Pink Floyd album cover reference earlier?
Yes!
LJ . . . “Water buffalo can run very fast when it is faced with danger. Average speed of water buffalo is 30 miles per hour.” Fastest human is around 28 MPH.
http://www.softschools.com/facts/animals/water_buffalo_facts/294/
Fer cryin’ out loud…
lulz
Nice work, I may need to branch out . . . .
Lulz!
WTF is going on here, do we need to give the Sox free bases?…
Nice, the Rockies just tied the Bums, 3-3.
The sea gulls must love “Don’t Stop Believin”…
I can’t hear that song anymore and not tear up. Between the World Series games and the final episode of The Soprano’s, I get goose bumps and misty eyed every single time.
Let’s get a run!
Gillaspie is staring at a DFA…
And it’s a mean-looking stare.
I like the bullpens on the sidelines. At the game, it’s fun to see a better view of who’s warming up.
True, it’s just not so safe for the players.
The return of Pablo would’ve been fun…
Machado got beaned with a 99 MPH heater from Ventura, charged the mound and started throwing punches.
I hear he landed at least one of them…good for him.
Yeah, also body slammed him to the ground. I agree well deserved. Fastball hit him in the side, but still he was practically limping to the mound when he went after Ventura.
Duffy is lost at the plate. When do you start thinking about sitting him down?
If Matt Duffy doesn’t get injured, with Boch’s steadfast support, he may produce the single worst season of any number 3 hitter in history.
Bochy wants the illusion of a “longer” lineup.
More like a delusion…
What pisses me off about that Journey song is that every baseball team plays it. There should be a rule that only teams that have won the World Series in the last 5 years can play it, with one addendum – if you’ve won it 3 times in the last 6 years, then you have dibs for 25 years.
Same thing happened with “Sweet Caroline”………I never got that at all.
Exactly! Not to mention they started out in San Francisco.
Loo, I totally agree with the yo-yo reference for Kontos. He just can’t seem to put himself higher in the bullpen hierarchy.
…meanwhile, my boy Strick is on a rocket ride to Alternate Closer status! (Though he did have a pretty good at-em ball going tonight)
Well….uh….
No idea where the f ing ball is going.
Hung the breaking ball that almost got himself killed.
Hung the last fastball that Belt speared.
Drilled the ump with 97 that missed the target by a foot or two.
Nook Jr.
Lulz WillieD! By the way, when are you going to get around to ripping Hanley tonight? Seems to me you’ve slammed him pretty good over the years. Not to the same extent you have ripped Vogey, but close.
Mom is ho . . . Uhh, isn’t that baby adorable?
Completely impotent 9th inning.
Shit. Quick trip to the hot tub and a beer later, and we’re getting ready to play extras, AND Casilla is on the hill. And a fucking lead-off double. Just don’t know what to say about Casilla, and whatever it is, won’t be pretty.
Consultation doesn’t work when you groove a cookie pitch Casilla!!
Casilla fucking sucks! There, told you it would not be pretty.
You have got to be shitting me, Bochy is leaving his sorry ass in there. WTF.
Wow. We get good Casilla in the 9th, bad Casilla in the 10th.
How much longer can we have squat in the 3 hole?
Fuck pull his sorry ass Boch your fucking killing Flap nation!!!
I’m having fond memories of Romo right now.
Nice play by Duffy.
Need a Craw DP special here.
DP to end it…
Pitching for a strikeout? Come on Kruk…I would be pitching for a ground ball…
14 RBIs? Duffy was a great story last year, but Jesus, Boch HAS to be moving his ass down.
That is exactly what Loo was saying a month or so ago. I was begging to differ at the time, but I am with that now.
Fuck…goddammit, Bochy should have taken his ass out a couple of batters back! If the Giants go on to lose, this one is as much on Bochy as it is on Casilla.
Ditto
Fuck.
Fuck this one’s on Bochy!!
You can’t have the bromance with a closer that can’t get it done!!!
For want of Crawford’s tag.
Wasn’t that a Todd Rungren song?
Dammit.
I really don’t like the goddamn red sox
I really don’t like it when Bochy sticks with a guy for about two too many hitters…ARGH.
As much as Bochy is a “bullpen maestro,” he has a fault here, not only with Casilla.
I don’t know man…who would you have brought in instead…Oshit?
Good question…the bullpen is a fucking shambles right now. I would push Casilla back to a set-up spot, and use someone else (Mr. yoyo Kontos or Strick)…And Romo isn’t even close to being ready.
This is the last year on Casilla’s contract. B’bye.
Lyons mentioned earlier that one rumor flying around is that Posey’s hand is jacked up from catching Captain Morgan with all of his hard stuff that darts around.
I usually don’t care for Lyons either, but I think he has been good tonight. He seems to have less of a vibe of “everything I say must be clever or funny” about him compared to his National broadcast days.
FYI, I think Kruk has a real bad case of “I have to be funny all the time” syndrome as well. It’s part of the reason I’m not a big fan.
It’s his right hand thumb. Catches with his left hand. So, how does that make sense — the ball has been hitting his bare hand?…
I guess that’s what I get for collecting Intel from a guy who pulls his pants down on National TV…..
This Pen is a real problem. If you’re not scoring a lot, your Pen better be kickass good…
More like Black Mariah, Dog . . .
wow Parker stays nice shot off Kimbrel.
Come on kid…show us something.
Speaking of hands, Duffy was hit in the hand on the 30th and I think he might still be affected by it. He’s still walking a lot, hardly strikes out, and his defense is superb. Should he be moved down in the order. Definitely . . . but who replaces him in the 3 hole? That’s the million dollar question . . . Personally, I love the guy and I think he’ll figure it out again. He was too good last season for me not to think that.
Blade, Duffy is the least disciplined hitter in the line up, with the lowest walk percentage of all the starters.
I should have been more clear – He is far ahead of his walk rate from last season.
So, I’ll echo what Chi said, what’s your LU going forward, i.e., 1-8?
Right now, with Pence out (and now Posey for a game or two), the “who do you put there” becomes an even tougher question to answer.
Cactus Mac fails again…
This one’s on Blanco and his AB in the 4th, when the Giants had a great chance to put up a big number off the crappy Porcello. That double play was a killer.
Good point. The Giants just do not score enough runs to cover up their POS pen. Maybe Lisle is right. Maybe the 0ffense is weak…
What a fucking POS game. Bochy AND Casilla own that fucker.
Yep, agree with Kruk – silver lining was Suarez. Lucky to have him right now.
Another come-from-ahead loss. Yes, the pen has something to do with this mess.
Yeah, lots of those lately…
Well, so far this one’s on Duffy, Craw, Blanco, Casilla, and Bochy…
Don’t forget Brown and that terrible throw to set up the tying run.
One of those games where you can take your pick:
I guess that’s what you call a blame game. Fucking Murph, what the hell did he feed those guys tonight.
lulz
Without Posey and Pence, and a good Pen, things are looking a little rough right now…
Damm right Chi!!
You go out to pull his sorry ass and Bochy shit in his pants and let him continue?? Fuck that loyalty and show some “cojones”, Fuck Butt Hurt Pride and make a Fucking STATEMENT!!!!
Thompson with the walk-off HR. He’s done that before. Good player.
Yeah, God forbid the cause of this loss were the Red Sox (with the best record in baseball). lulz
