Kershaw! Bumgarner!

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on September 19, 2016

…..and cue Romo’s laugh track. I really need to see a video of this. I’d settle for a gif. I watched it live but now that I can’t find it anywhere on the internet I feel like I need to see it again to really let the *mosaic* of it wash over me. At the very least I’d like to get a Romo laugh track and play it whenever I see something stupid or absurd unfolding before my eyes…

Five back of the Dodgers. One back of the Mets. One UP on the Cardinals. About the only thing that’s remotely plausible is that the Cardinals go into Nepal and get blasted and watch their pitching staff implode. Even if that happens we still have the ongoing problem of sucking and even if we get a lead Bochy will just give it to Santiago GasCan and up in flames we go.

This is the worst September for baseball I can ever remember. Total let down.

Regarding the Crue….Kickstart My Heart is far and away my favorite Crue song. I’m not sure how anyone could listen to that and not get stoked to go do something.

Post game wrap guys are saying Pen now unlucky. How Lopez got the ground ball, but they were playing Seager to pull, so didn’t get the double play. Ya know, if you’re playing for contact, that means the ball can get through. Law can strike guys out. Right now they need a swing and miss closer. Law, not Strickland, is the only guy that do that, IMO. Just give him the ball and sink or swim…

      Did you see Gearrin yesterday?

      • snarkk said, on September 19, 2016 at 10:29 pm

didn’t see, heard. Yeah. He’s been up and down. I don’t see him any better shot at closing than Law, Gearin will give up a gopher ball as well as anybody else. There are no sure answers. At 150 games in, this team has no closer…

He might’ve turned a corner yesterday. At least he’s not scared shitless like Strickland…

Im sick of looking at Bochy’s drawn out face!!
Welllll we talked(Boch&Bum) what the fuck does that mean?

Yep, 97 pitches for MadBum. I remember a September game last year, Kershaw was left in to throw 130-some pitches and finish off a 1-run victory over the Giants.

Right now we’re grasping at straws of ifs and buts and candy and nuts. That’s what losing 5 of the last 9 where you led in the 9th will do. Granted, you can’t score a ton against Kershaw. But, this team just needs to go into a 9th with more than a 1 run lead…

He let Tim throw 143 in one of his meaningless no-hitters…

The worst thing that could have happened if Bum went up to hit is that the F’d up Fodgers hit him. But that would have been great to get a full fledged brawl…

It’s like Boch is saving bummie for the playoffs but we ain’t snfffing the playoffs till we take care of the regular season.

If it was 2014, Panik smothers that grounder and Pence catches that last one…

Baggs reporting Bochy post-game not discussing why he pulled Bum.
“We talked. I’ll leave it at that.”
Could be mistaken, but that sounds like something going on there between those two.
Seriously, I’m with others here, I would not be surprised at all that we are going to find out post-season that some kind of serious clubhouse shit has been going down in the second half. We will never find out anything from the beat writers during the season…

After looking at replays of that Puig/Bum contretemps, I don’t know why it happened. If anything, seems to me Bum was looking for a reason to get PO’d. Nothing unusual there. I guess we’ll sorta find out later. You could tell Bum was saying “don’t look at me”. Ok. If Bum weren’t looking at Puig, he wouldn’t know Puig was looking at him. Whatever…

Did Joe nathan quit or die??
Closing is a mentality. I didn’t used to believe that but look at all these guys splits between other innings and the 9th. Bad.
Bochy is so over managing. I get why it started, but seriously. I defy anyone to recall a game in the last month where we had a lead in the 8th or 9th. A guy gave up a baserunner, and was allowed to get out of his own mess. I guessing you can’t because it hasn’t happened. The pressure is already there, and knowing you must be perfect or you get hooked makes it worse…

PS..since the Pagan lost fly ball game Joe nate hasn’t been seen since…

Yeah, Tom, I agree. This team is just not *right*. Not at all seemingly like a *team*, which previous championship teams were. More like a dysfunctional family falling apart at all seams. Sad.

  15. PaulinAsia Banh Bao said, on September 19, 2016 at 11:40 pm

What frosts my butt about the whole thing is how the team was playing well and winning (what a concept) with the likes of Parker and Williamson. Post-break, ne’er a sighting of either one of them. Why did Bochy give up on players who actually were getting it done? At least getting it done as a team. We might have a long off-season contemplating that and other conundrums. Conundra? Whatever. It sucks.

    • snarkk said, on September 20, 2016 at 12:13 am

With you on that. Williamson was rockin’ on that trip East, and homered at Fenway and Yankme Stadium. Comes back, torques his shoulder a little in that outfield slide, and essentially never heard from again. He and Parker get one PHit chance apparently every third game or so, but that’s not going to get them going. Bochy just will not play a position player not making a few million a year…

I looked at the MLB replays on the Pence play in right that ended the game. If Pagan had made that misplay, we’d be ripping him. Pence took a bad route, but still should have had it. He was a yard from the wall, and the ball hit the middle heel of his glove, he barely had to jump. A major league RFer has to make that play. Strick’s pitch at 0-2 was a hit me BS slider on the outside part of the plate, but still, Pence has to make that play. It wasn’t that difficult; maybe the lights got in his eyes is the only excuse I can figure…

I’m surprised it took him this long, but Jeff Passan finally wrote something called “The Epic Collapse of the SF Giants”. He’s a tool, but honestly, not much in that article I could disagree with. He doesn’t rag on the team, he just painfully outlines the whole big messy demise. And he seems as puzzled about it as any of us do. This … team… is just… not … right. Can’t wait to eventually find out why.

  18. snarkk said, on September 20, 2016 at 12:44 am

Bum’s post-game presser was pretty uncomfortable. Did not really look like he wanted to answer much of anything, particularly about being pulled after the 7th. I think there’s signs of some bad juju going on with this team…
