Bye Bye Romo

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on February 4, 2017

The angst on twitter from Giants fans about Romo leaving for the Dodgers is surprising me. Who cares? He did his job here and did it well. He directly contributed to three rings. The Giants didn’t offer him a deal. He’s obviously declining. He signed with his hometown team. It’s almost another win for us since I bet he sucks this year. Nobody could do the Dodgers the way the GREAT Jason Schmidt did them. But if we’re lucky, Romo could “Schmidt” them a little. At least “Schmidt-stain” them…..

Ok, as of 7:26am PST no one has gotten the current “Name this Giant” and so I’ll leave him up with a hint: He’s a pitcher. He pitched one year for us and one year for the Angels. No other mlb appearances. His name is well remembered by me but I’m insane that way so maybe this guy will stump everyone for once.

And here are the most current standings:

Loo 12

Diggity 7

Wilco 7

Chuck 3

Blade 2

Kat, That Fucking Clown, MacDog 1

Name THIS Giant:

    I’m going with Atlanta by 7, 38-31. I don’t want Brady to get # 5…

    • Flavor said, on February 5, 2017 at 3:16 pm

This is the first time in 20+ years I don’t have any $$$ on the SB. But I’m with you, rooting for ATL for same reasons

  3. Flavor said, on February 5, 2017 at 4:07 pm

current player still hasn’t been named. One hint: he was part of a block buster trade.

    • xoot said, on February 5, 2017 at 4:46 pm

That’s the only one I’ve been close to calling. I remember that weird ass deal with the White Sox like it was yesterday. But I was too slow on the phone. Old age. Good pick SD. Good SB so far, huh?

  5. Flavor said, on February 5, 2017 at 4:31 pm

    fuck Brady. This is rad.

  6. willedav said, on February 5, 2017 at 4:46 pm

      A fine analogy, Wille…

  7. Flavor said, on February 5, 2017 at 4:49 pm

the SB might be a huge let down (although I am loving it) but the Name THIS Giant game is still the best game in town…

    • wilcojoe said, on February 5, 2017 at 5:10 pm

Dude, it’s addicting as hell. I have literally had to pull myself away from my phone to do other shit.

quick halftime hint: He was a pitcher. And you’ve all heard of him, he’s not a random guy.

    • djloo27 said, on February 5, 2017 at 5:22 pm

      I shoulda waited for that.
      Diggety & WJ are relentless…

      • Flavor said, on February 5, 2017 at 5:26 pm

I’m more interested in playing this game than the SB. I’ll kick down a hint for each miss for the rest of the SB

  29. zumiee said, on February 5, 2017 at 7:02 pm

Colossal choke-job, by the Falcons, of course.

  30. wilcojoe said, on February 5, 2017 at 7:05 pm

  34. blade3colorado said, on February 5, 2017 at 7:16 pm

Just give the word Flav for multiple answers. Grin. Locked and loaded.

  35. willedav said, on February 5, 2017 at 7:18 pm

Ah that movie ad was for Atwood’s “The Handmaid’s Tale”. Fantastic book, future dystopian American where religious wingnuts have taken over part of the country.

    • zumiee said, on February 5, 2017 at 7:19 pm

      In other words, non-fiction.

    • willedav said, on February 5, 2017 at 7:27 pm

oh yeah Zum this one is pretty scathing. Wonder who/when got the idea to make a movie of this as it’s pretty old book. gonna piss people off for sure unless they turn it completely different.

  36. zumiee said, on February 5, 2017 at 7:18 pm

I am very not pleased with what’s happened in this football game.

    • blade3colorado said, on February 5, 2017 at 7:19 pm

Me too. Monumental collapse by the Falcons. Inept.

  37. zumiee said, on February 5, 2017 at 7:22 pm

A clinic on how to give away a game.

  38. xoot said, on February 5, 2017 at 7:22 pm

Joe Buck’s lust for Tom Brady is strange for mainstream broadcasting.

  39. wilcojoe said, on February 5, 2017 at 7:24 pm

I hate, hate the OT rules in the NFL. It all comes down to the coin toss. Ridiculous!

  40. zumiee said, on February 5, 2017 at 7:24 pm

    As Nipper would say: bleep.

  41. willedav said, on February 5, 2017 at 7:24 pm

Hard to f-ing believe. I was sure once Brady screwed that pass for the pick 6 they were dead

  42. djloo27 said, on February 5, 2017 at 7:25 pm

So glad I can watch this and not care…

  43. zumiee said, on February 5, 2017 at 7:26 pm

Where’s Dan Bunz to make that tackle?

  44. blade3colorado said, on February 5, 2017 at 7:26 pm

I absolutely hate the Falcons, Tom Brady, Patriots and NFL football. That being said, my hat is grudgingly off to Brady and the Patriots. Out.

  45. djloo27 said, on February 5, 2017 at 7:27 pm

Giselle made sure to take a nice selfie of her reaction.
This world is not for me.

    • willedav said, on February 5, 2017 at 7:31 pm

Agreed, and I’m out of touch for what makes a good halftime by a longshot.

  46. wilcojoe said, on February 5, 2017 at 7:28 pm

Putting my biases aside, it will be hard to argue that Montana was a better QB than Brady after this performance.

  47. willedav said, on February 5, 2017 at 7:29 pm

Might be a good time for young Shanahan to get out of Dodge too tho them giving up all the yards and points to Brady was more critical.

  48. gianthead said, on February 5, 2017 at 7:29 pm

Glad I did not bet on this game…would have definitely taken the under and Falcons at +3…if I had gone big if I had a bankroll to risk, I would have probably gone tease and been ok, but who knows….

  49. zumiee said, on February 5, 2017 at 7:30 pm

The biggest play was the missed block by the running back. That was the big turning point in the game. How does he not see that linebacker coming on his side? You could see that turnover coming in slow motion. Then the Falcons went into full choke-mode.

  50. gianthead said, on February 5, 2017 at 7:33 pm

I really wanted the Patriots to lose more than the Falcons winning, but on the Pats last drive in regulation, believe it was 2nd down on the 8. They should have blitzed 8 or 9 and gone in for the kill….but of course the Amendola catch will be remembered forever..

    • zumiee said, on February 5, 2017 at 7:56 pm

      Yeah, a huge play, too.

  51. unca_chuck said, on February 5, 2017 at 7:35 pm

Joe never threw a pick 6. Shit, he never threw a pick in the Super Bowl.

Disgusting loss by Atl. The refs were fairly one-sided as well.

  52. unca_chuck said, on February 5, 2017 at 7:36 pm

Atl’s defense was on the field the entire 4th quarter and most of the 3rd.

    • willedav said, on February 5, 2017 at 7:54 pm

Wanted to ask your opinion of Brady’s backup Garappolo (or whatev): would he be a legit target for Niners?
Can they afford to give up picks it might take?

  53. zumiee said, on February 5, 2017 at 7:59 pm

The half-time show was great for people who like vapid quickly-forgotten techno-dance music.

    • zumiee said, on February 5, 2017 at 8:02 pm

She also set the Super Bowl record for camera crotch-shots. Middle America pretended to be outraged by it.

      • Flavor said, on February 5, 2017 at 8:09 pm

Yeah. I lol’d as she said “Hi mom Hi dad” with he crotch wide open to America.

  54. Flavor said, on February 5, 2017 at 8:02 pm

I’m disgusted by the outcome of the SB but so happy I didn’t have $$$ on this game. I too would have taken the under and Atl.
On the flip side, there is still a Giant to name and Loo, Blade and Wilco are OUT on this one. No more hints, I can’t make it any easier. Please, someone get this before Diggity logs back in.

  55. blade3colorado said, on February 5, 2017 at 8:06 pm

Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo easy, with first and last name initials. Should have stayed in the weeds.

    • Flavor said, on February 5, 2017 at 8:08 pm

I got a little “hint happy” there. The SB was flying along, I probably should have kept my cool. But it’s out there for anyone to nab it. It really should be Diggity, right?

  56. wilcojoe said, on February 5, 2017 at 8:11 pm

Can we give out all the consonants in his name so Zumiee or someone else can block Sandawg from getting it? 😉

    • blade3colorado said, on February 5, 2017 at 8:14 pm

Just send Zumiee an email. lulz

  57. Flavor said, on February 5, 2017 at 8:15 pm

No, just let it play out. Diggity will check back in at some point. If it’s still up he should get it just off the pic. i would HOPE he would anyway. Whoever gets it gets it

  58. djloo27 said, on February 5, 2017 at 8:17 pm

Check out any Falcon blogs, Zum?

    • zumiee said, on February 5, 2017 at 9:14 pm

No; yikes, I can imagine their despair.

  59. snarkk said, on February 5, 2017 at 8:17 pm

Am I mistaken, or couldn’t Atl just salef the win with a fee running plays there late in 4th, when they were already in FG position, then kicked it to go up by 11? The play calls by shabby or whoever were crazy …,

    • snarkk said, on February 5, 2017 at 8:20 pm

      Salted the win…

      • zumiee said, on February 5, 2017 at 9:15 pm

Yes. The QB could have just kneeled 3 times and then they try the FG.

  60. Flavor said, on February 5, 2017 at 8:20 pm

Man, what’s ATL got, 1 major sports crown? Braves in ’95? And then this was gonna be #2. I just can’t imagine how bummed Falcon fans are right now.

    • djloo27 said, on February 5, 2017 at 8:22 pm

      Think of yourself in 2002…

      • Flavor said, on February 5, 2017 at 8:25 pm

I’ve honestly blocked most of it out. For some reason I decided to take a shower in the middle of the game when they were up 4 or 5 nothing. I can’t remember the exact score or inning. I remember crying in the shower I was so happy it was finally going to happen. I honestly don’t remember anything else about that game. I don’t even remember getting out of the shower. Swear to God.

    • Flavor said, on February 5, 2017 at 8:34 pm

and the thing is, he really could have and SHOULD have lost the last 2 he won. If it weren’t for some mindblowingly horrendous calls by Sea and Atl, he loses the last 2. But no, the reality is he won both. And his hot wife dances ecstatic in a selfie and will be fucking him so hard tonight. As Loo said, this world might not be for us with Brady in it…..

      • djloo27 said, on February 5, 2017 at 8:36 pm

The Atwood novel will be on Hulu TV as a series I believe. Funny, I looked up reviews on Amazon and there were many very recent ones despite fact book was written about 20 yrs ago, allegedly in response to Reagan times. quite a chilling tale many find rather appropriate to today.
And I’d imagine her dystopian take on what could happen to America should part of it become a theocracy in divided times is gonna upset lot of people. Banned in Bama, maybe.
