D-Rod hadn’t thrown a pitch off a mound, in his life, until 2013. Trip out on that…..

As you know, that’s only a year before we won #3. And now he’s regularly dominating big league line ups. It is still inconceivable to me that the Twins just let this dude flitter off into the wind for nada. Every article I read about this just glosses over the question we all have: Why did the Twins let him go? The best answer I’ve found is that he was simply “blocked”. Respectful question, but by who?

Talking heads on KNBR were issuing caution saying “Remember Hesto Presto.” To me, that’s nonsense. Rodriguez has sick stuff, Hesto Presto had one lucky night. The obvious issue going forward is going to be number of innings of that arm.

If Bumgarner is going to anchor something, today would be a good day to start doing that….

    WOW!

    Whoa!

  3. xoot said, on July 21, 2018 at 9:06 pm

Drive that wild man in Dribbler! And now the shitty bullpen is the issue? Fuck the a’s

  4. Lurker John said, on July 21, 2018 at 9:06 pm

I don’t like this. The Giants might get screwed here.

  5. chipower9 said, on July 21, 2018 at 9:06 pm

How the fuck can you even review that shit….

  6. Lurker John said, on July 21, 2018 at 9:07 pm

    Yes.

  7. chipower9 said, on July 21, 2018 at 9:07 pm

    Umps got it right…

  8. zumiee said, on July 21, 2018 at 9:09 pm

Melancon should just leave the chair.

    • zumiee said, on July 21, 2018 at 9:10 pm

      Piscotty had a legitimate beef.

      • chipower9 said, on July 21, 2018 at 9:11 pm

I disagree. I don’t see where there was any intent by Melancon to impact the play.

      • zumiee said, on July 21, 2018 at 9:14 pm

I don’t see why intent would matter. I’d have to see the rules.

      • zumiee said, on July 21, 2018 at 9:15 pm

Those chairs are a funky situation.

      • xoot said, on July 21, 2018 at 9:18 pm

What the fuck is melancon supposed to do? He tried to solve a problem the A’s created. Only if he intended to interfere could that have been a legit beef

  9. chipower9 said, on July 21, 2018 at 9:12 pm

Duggar can go a long way with this AB in showing he belongs…

  10. zumiee said, on July 21, 2018 at 9:13 pm

Pence with 3 hits, none hit very hard. Made a big contribution. Cool. At least he didn’t have to play defense.

  11. Lurker John said, on July 21, 2018 at 9:15 pm

They may sign Pence to an extension after this.

  12. willedav said, on July 21, 2018 at 9:16 pm

Duggar is turning into the batting equivalent of Gearrin. Step out re adjust the batting gloves, tap the helmet yada yada every pitch. Pablo used to have really elaborate pre AB ritual that he’s toned down nowadays.

  13. zumiee said, on July 21, 2018 at 9:19 pm

I replayed that about 10 times. I finally understand what Melancon was doing. He swung the chair out because he was clearing a path for another Giant to get out of the way.

  14. willedav said, on July 21, 2018 at 9:19 pm

that’s the first A’s hit since the bloop in front of Cutch off Bumgarner.

  15. Lurker John said, on July 21, 2018 at 9:21 pm

    What the fuck Hansen

  16. chipower9 said, on July 21, 2018 at 9:21 pm

And there is a prime example of why I do not want to see Hanson playing 2nd everyday…

    • xoot said, on July 21, 2018 at 9:27 pm

Back in the good old days Panik and Pence learned how to apportion those bloops perfectly. I doubt Pence could cover that ground today. I. I’m very disapointed in Cutch’s overall efforts

      • zumiee said, on July 21, 2018 at 9:35 pm

        Well said.

  17. Lurker John said, on July 21, 2018 at 9:23 pm

Almost identical to the pop that dropped earlier. His defense is really bad.

  18. zumiee said, on July 21, 2018 at 9:24 pm

    Help him out, Cutch.

  19. djloo27 said, on July 21, 2018 at 9:24 pm

It was Hanson’s ball, but McCutchen was in another area code…

    • Lurker John said, on July 21, 2018 at 9:24 pm

Just like earlier. Chi said he was plucking dandelions.

      • zumiee said, on July 21, 2018 at 9:26 pm

Cutch was jogging; he could have at least sprinted in.

      • zumiee said, on July 21, 2018 at 9:27 pm

        Where’s Cutch’s urgency? I don’t get it.

    • chipower9 said, on July 21, 2018 at 9:28 pm

Yep. Hanson’s ball all the way…and definitely catchable….

  20. chipower9 said, on July 21, 2018 at 9:30 pm

    Fuck yeah!

  21. willedav said, on July 21, 2018 at 9:30 pm

    Nice work by Moronta…

  23. Macdog said, on July 21, 2018 at 9:31 pm

    Let’s play extras!

  24. Lurker John said, on July 21, 2018 at 9:31 pm

    Nice!

  25. PaulinAsia Banh Bao said, on July 21, 2018 at 9:31 pm

Moronta, our bases loaded secret weapon out of the ‘pen…

  26. zumiee said, on July 21, 2018 at 9:32 pm

It’s on Hanson to catch that, but Cutch just jogging on that annoys me. He knows Hanson struggles with those.

    • chipower9 said, on July 21, 2018 at 9:41 pm

Hanson catches that ball the way he should have, and it is a moot point…

I find no fault with Cutch there…I don’t think he could have got there even if he was Flash…

  27. Lurker John said, on July 21, 2018 at 9:36 pm

Great pitch by Moronta to induce the ground ball. 97 mph on the outside corner at the knees.

  28. willedav said, on July 21, 2018 at 9:37 pm

Kinda surprised Melvin is leaving Treinen in. He’s thrown 31 pitches already. That’s your closer out there.
He has already used his only lefty out of pen.

    • xoot said, on July 21, 2018 at 9:41 pm

Familia Man may see some work at the E. Coli tomorrow

  29. chipower9 said, on July 21, 2018 at 9:39 pm

Let’s get ‘er done Gerald Demp…

  30. xoot said, on July 21, 2018 at 9:52 pm

Reyes!!! Good job. Now what do the a’s do? What do they do tomorrow? Win this one and things will be looking good.

  31. djloo27 said, on July 21, 2018 at 10:01 pm

I think Pence should still bat righty, but he should do it from the lefty batter’s box…

    • willedav said, on July 21, 2018 at 10:09 pm

lulz props to east coast for hanging in. Giants guys Pavs + Baggs joking with Petit in there game could go on forever.

      • willedav said, on July 21, 2018 at 10:12 pm

        or not.

  32. chipower9 said, on July 21, 2018 at 10:05 pm

Craw showing Hanson how it’s done…

  33. zumiee said, on July 21, 2018 at 10:06 pm

    Craw-daddy!

  34. willedav said, on July 21, 2018 at 10:06 pm

Dang another nice grab…and that ball was actually closer to the younger/faster Hanson. Just doesn’t take good routes to the ball.

  35. Lurker John said, on July 21, 2018 at 10:07 pm

Craw is like Kelly Leake, catch everything you can get to. That was Hanson’s ball all the way and he was nowhere near it. What a play.

  36. zumiee said, on July 21, 2018 at 10:12 pm

    Well, shoot. Get’em tomorrow.

  37. chipower9 said, on July 21, 2018 at 10:12 pm

Pfffttt…lots of missed opportunities, but those two runs walked in by Bum were killer…

  38. Macdog said, on July 21, 2018 at 10:13 pm

    Fuckin’ A’s.

  39. zumiee said, on July 21, 2018 at 10:15 pm

Smith didn’t have his real nasty slider tonight.

  40. Bozo said, on July 21, 2018 at 10:17 pm

Hell of a fight, get em tomorrow.

  41. zumiee said, on July 21, 2018 at 10:51 pm

I like this quote from columnist Leonard Pitts, regarding Helsinki:
“The man who thought Colin Kaepernick unpatriotic for kneeling could not bring himself to stand up for his country.”
