Kap’s Gott to Go

This guy…..

I don’t like this guy.

Any manager with a brain wouldn’t be putting him in a meaningful spot. Let him work out his problems in the bullpen with his coach or in blowout games.

But Kap is brainless…..

It’ll tribal with Shulman giving Kapler the long leash.

While I am frustrated as hell, I agree that three weeks is not a lot of time, especially with a team that just does not have a lot of talent. But, you also have to look to his time in Philly. He DID have a solid team, and the results were not great. I can be patient, but my patience wains.

It all makes sense now to me. Gabe Kapler fucking hates Trevor Gott. It has become Kapler’s mission to personally destroy Trevor Gott. This is the ultimate in personal humiliation. Gabe Kapler must eat Trevor Gott’s children for breakfast….🤪🤢😰😭

There is no other explanation…no manager can possibly be this dumb. Just not possible. I say he uses Gott every game in any crucial situation..

or just pitch him every game and force him to go all 9 until he gets hospitalized.

But risk not being able to use him endlessly and even more humiliation????

funny thing is stuff we’d normally complain about hasn’t been there so much lately except for sunday. Last night everyone except C got at least a hit Belt homered Longo long triple Dubon had couple hits solano got another streak started Yaz with clutch rake and Tromp got sac fly, and the D was good.
3 set up guys had shutout innings, and except for awesome solo bomb, Trout was held in check.
the 3 games where Giants lost lead they scored 19 runs total and hit their share of HRs.

Last night, as per my earlier posting where I once again rhetorically asked who would pitch the 9th, all I needed to see was the pitcher selection. Switched over to reading my e.m.s at that point. One of them featured a link, so by the time I hooked back with MLB.com’s Game-Day, I was totally prepared for the situation. No surprise whatsoforever.

“If at you don’t succeed the first time, try, try again.” Guessing K. took that to heart and did the same-old, same-old. Frankly, my Dears, at this point the whole thing’s gotten so old that its stinking up the whole joint.

Gott is another Zaidi reclamation project and the others that didn’t work out were dropped pretty quickly. I imagine we’ll see Gott as the 7th inning guy very soon.

I’m thinking the way Zaidi built this team this year was with deadline trades in mind. Pence and Pablo for example, were inexpensive bats, that if they put up numbers close to last year, could easily be traded.
It’s probably why they are playing them in hopes they get on a streak.
This might even be the plan for the vets with contracts that Zaidi wants to dump. The FO already allowed Zaidi to eat Cozart’s contract to get Wilson, so maybe that’s the plan for Belt or Crawford if they can get on a streak. My concern right now is, if the team isn’t willing to eat any more contracts to get high rated kids back, would they add one of our own just to get out of the bad contract and to still get something back? Hopefully they’re not holding Bart back as a trade chip.

    • Carstie Clausen's avatar Carstie Clausen said, on August 18, 2020 at 7:35 am

Don’t even THINK that last sentence. There are several guys on the blog who would go ballistic at the thought. Heart failures or strokes could be in the offing. For some, Bart has become the only ray of sunshine in a grey and dismal season.

      Don’t worry Bozo.
      They’re not that dumb.
The money 💰💰 they owe the Brandons is peanuts nowadays.
At most, Pence, Panda and Smdj have a few weeks to go.
Cueto’s an asset and they’ll live with Longoria for now.
Buster will play it out next season…

Imagine what this mess has done to player morale. Here, like williedav points out, the position players did their job admirably, once again coming from behind to take the lead. The setup guys cruised. The only ones not to contribute to a possible nice victory were Gott and his manager who placed him once again into that trial by fire. Speaking of fire, it would be interesting to be a little bird hanging out in the clubhouse after the game and before the upcoming contest. Wondering if the word “fire” comes up a lot.

Yechh and again yecch. That is one of the least intimidating lineups in recent Giants history–probably predating the Bonds era and maybe even back to the sloppy Seventies. Lots of speed-bumps from 4-9. and even our two-holer seems to be dropping off from his performance last year. Then the starter…prepare ignitions for blast-off. Oh, and the “good” news. Smardj is due back soon. No word on Smyly…or any of Snow White’s seven little buddies for that matter.

Slater is still on the active roster. It was reported about four days ago that he has an elbox flexor strain. When Duggar was brought up, D-Rod was sent back to Sac (OK with me, as he still sucks). Does not look like Slater is headed to the 10-day IL, as of now.

Guy they are facing today Dylan Bundy has done well so far. He wiped out A’s for 6 2/3 holding them to 3 hits 1 run 0BBs 7 Ks.
Thx to Unc for putting up stats…like to see Dickerson do more than be .700 OPS hitter. He cracked high velo line drive single last night as Kruk mentioned.

He does have 6 BBs second on team behind Yaz, but only 4 XBHs in 48 times up. Less HRs than Belt is unacceptable It’s supposed to be 99 in Anaheim today and that is live yard. Time for Dick to uh rise to occasion.

If in a blowout the opposing pitcher suxxx so much he loads the bases, and goes 3-0 on the batter, what is the batter supposed to do — take 3 strikes to take it EZ on the oppo? That is just crap. It goes against the basic competitive principle of sports. Maybe the A’s should have just laid down on Sunday after being up 9-2? No. The Giants sucked, and the A’s took advantage, as it should be, they are the better squad. Getting smoked by a better team gives the bad team incentive to get better. Panda?!? Good to see Yaz get to one of those. he has been close but no cigar on so many lately. .

Makes you wonder why it took so long for Yaz to make the bigs…

Wonder how K & K would hold up if they had to do a live read for new Giant sponsor, “Hiscox”.
    Keith Hernandez had problems…

That K&K Pablo stat surprised me. He came up in 2008 and he now has 149 reg. season HRs.

Panda clearly having difficulty transporting that gut on the base paths…

Maybe they need to dangle a whole chicken 🍗 at Panda from the dugout..

  52. chipower9's avatar chipower9 said, on August 18, 2020 at 2:31 pm

Regardless of all of our thoughts on Craw, dude is still a damned good defender. Awesome job of keeping the glove on the runner.

Belt doesn’t even manage to foul off the hard stuff at this point.

  54. alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 said, on August 18, 2020 at 2:43 pm

Man Longoria is going to feel that bruise for a while!
Pitcher drilled him so hard in the back it literally lifted him off the ground 😖

All my bore core whipping boys getting in on the action today. 😂 Got to keep grinding on them….

How many runs do they need to score to preserve the lead?

    • alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 said, on August 18, 2020 at 2:48 pm

As long as Gott doesn’t see the field maybe a few more wouldn’t hurt..

For Chi Crawford says take that with a smoking 2 run double!

The Bore Core has had an uptick in performance so far this week. That is hard to figure.

Well, the numbers were so abysmal, they had to go up at least a little. They’re in their early 30s, not 50s!

Angels pitching might have something to do with it too. Crawford just whacked another double.
bundy though had been very good and beat A’s last week.

    My boy Craw, 😂

    • willedav's avatar willedav said, on August 18, 2020 at 3:44 pm

      whatever works man!
None of these guys are as bad as they’ve looked. longo hit 20 HRs last year, 1 less than Pillar in 100 fewer ABs.
Sandoval had fine season too and was PH machine. Craw has new stance etc., and gets fewer ABs these days, another adjustment. Maybe a little success will add to confidence yada yada.

It better be Garcia, if it’s not Kapler will have to take a paddle from every flapper as he says “Yes flappers May I have another!”

  67. alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 said, on August 18, 2020 at 4:06 pm

You know Kapler always has to tempt fate.
No reason at all Garcia couldn’t of closed this game out.
Why Anderson? Other then Kapler wants to continue being a dick

  68. James's avatar James said, on August 18, 2020 at 4:07 pm

Anderson’s 3 HRs per 9 IP is less than half of Gott’s 7 per 9. He’d have to give up 5 to pass up Gott.
