A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

These Guys Want To Stay

GraveDuggar, Wade, Vosler…..who, exactly, is going to get sent down when we start getting some of our infirmed back? I guess it will be Vos but man I like that kid’s stroke.

Belmont Stakes day today! I know we’ve all been looking forward to this thread 🙂

I could obviously see Essential Quality win but there’s better value out there. I’m not running Rombauer back mostly because he’s facing a better field, the odds won’t be there and, I know this isn’t the most important thing but he’s so small and this race is SOOOOO long.

Anyway I couldn’t split hairs between Known Agenda and Hot Rod Charlie so I’m just going to use them both in my p4 and p3. Gun to my head and I only got to pick 1? Known Agenda. Good luck to you if you’re playing!

Vosler has a great looking swing, something you could really see last night. Short, powerful and balanced, with no wasted motion. It looks to me like he could hit some homers if he keeps developing. Wade’s is looking pretty good too. All three guys are contributing right now and that’s one sign of a good team. Plug a guy in and he gets the job done.

    GO GIANTS!

    • Winder said, on June 5, 2021 at 8:53 am

All the balls that left the stadium yesterday has some serious zip to em. This team just steps up when they need too.

  2. alleykat69 said, on June 5, 2021 at 8:58 am

If I could send Tauchman down I would. He couldn’t even hit batting practice pitching right now.I hate these 5 years experience rule where you can’t send a guy down without his permission.Who’s ever going to voluntarily say, yeah I suck I need to go down and work on my hitting and play down in Sacramento everyday..

  3. mrsprtdude said, on June 5, 2021 at 10:45 am

Maybe the yanks dumped Tauchman for a reason. 3rd or 4th organization? I’ve switched to we can win now until proven otherwise? maybe this year has some magic in it, who knows. I’d release Tauchman vs sending someone down. Unless we think he is another Yaz in the making….

  4. mrsprtdude said, on June 5, 2021 at 10:47 am

Still hard to see it or say it but SF Giants the best team in baseball slightly more than 1/3 of the way though the season.

    Reread that!

  5. zumiee said, on June 5, 2021 at 11:36 am

Tauchman does draw a lot of walks, but that’s because he bats 8th, and the opponent wants to pitch to the pitcher.

Listening to Christone “Kingfish” Ingram today. 22 year old bluesman from Clarksdale MS. “Outside of This Town” gets some airplay, I think, but his range is vast. Now there’s a show I would go out of my way to attend.

This is why Irad Ortiz isn’t riding today.

Kazmir definitely needed to go because he sucks, but I can’t imagine Doval improved much in his brief time in AAA.

    • Winder said, on June 5, 2021 at 3:29 pm

Yeah, kinda hard to see him controlling that fastball of his since his last time up. But maybe him being a little wild isn’t such a bad thing. Using him for a inning here and there will offset the bullpen routine.

    • xoot said, on June 5, 2021 at 3:30 pm

We haven’t seen the last of Kaz I bet. You think someone will claim him? The Giants have a week to put him back on the 40, too, I think. Webb is broken.

      • Lurker John said, on June 5, 2021 at 3:59 pm

Probably not, xoot, but he still sucks. I’m hopeful Webb will come back in a few weeks all healed up.

Wow crazy world we’re still living in Day to Day..
Jon Rahm leading the Memorial Tournament by 6 strokes after a brilliant 64 going into tomorrow’s final rd at 18 under par tested covid positive was told by an pga official staff walking off to sign his 3rd rd score card.He has now withdrawn from the tournament and a certain win.

  15. Flavor said, on June 5, 2021 at 3:34 pm

i don’t have him in my p3/p4 (only the 4/6) but my ex-girlfriend just texted me saying Bourbonic is going to win. Normally I’d dismiss the random yammerings of a lass but she did pick Giacomo, cold on top in the Derby years ago and she’s also done well in the Belmont so……..I gotta put something to win on him.

  16. zumiee said, on June 5, 2021 at 3:49 pm

Tauchman batting 6th, it’s a good game for him to do something.

  17. alleykat69 said, on June 5, 2021 at 4:01 pm

Shit I was just goofing around with a buddy texting before the race and I told him it will be Essential Quality,Hot Rod Charlie and I’ll throw in Roumbauer for the trifecta and I nailed it cold lol 😂

    • Flavor said, on June 5, 2021 at 4:15 pm

gotta say that shit B4 the race my man, lol

  18. Flavor said, on June 5, 2021 at 4:14 pm

4 ran an incredible race. Went WAY too fast early, still had enough gas and will left in the tank to make a race of it in the stretch. Game fucker.

    • djloo27 said, on June 5, 2021 at 5:34 pm

I don’t think Known Agenda has any interest in being a racehorse….

  19. Lurker John said, on June 5, 2021 at 4:16 pm

I’ve seen a number of videos of that kid playing, xoot. He’s one hell of an axeman. At 22, it’ll be interesting to see how his career goes. With all that talent, he has a lot of headroom to grow. Very expressive player.

    • Lurker John said, on June 5, 2021 at 4:17 pm

And, yeah, that would be a great live show to attend, preferably in a small venue.

  20. zumiee said, on June 5, 2021 at 4:28 pm

Wade got ripped off by the ump.

    • djloo27 said, on June 5, 2021 at 4:37 pm

      So did the Grave Duggar…

      • zumiee said, on June 5, 2021 at 4:38 pm

Gausman should get the same overly big strike zone then.

  21. Macdog said, on June 5, 2021 at 4:51 pm

That’s a generous hit for Tauch.

  22. djloo27 said, on June 5, 2021 at 4:54 pm

Grave Duggar’s gotta cut down on the Ks and put more balls in play.
    Utilize that speed…

  23. zumiee said, on June 5, 2021 at 5:16 pm

    Dick HR!

  24. zumiee said, on June 5, 2021 at 5:18 pm

    Craw ripped off! 3rd guy!

  25. zumiee said, on June 5, 2021 at 5:18 pm

Ump completely helping out the Cubs pitcher.

  26. James said, on June 5, 2021 at 5:21 pm

Incorrect ball strike calls need to be fixed a whole lot more than the shift. They have a disproportionately negative effect on a smart team like the Giants.

    • zumiee said, on June 5, 2021 at 5:29 pm

      Do both.

      • James said, on June 5, 2021 at 5:31 pm

The shift is a non issue, read the article I posted yesterday. It’s a KNBR caller kinda concern.

      • xoot said, on June 5, 2021 at 6:17 pm

I liked that article. Did part two determine if strike outs rose in ABs against the shift as did launch angles?

  27. James said, on June 5, 2021 at 5:30 pm

This Cub pitcher would very likely not be in the game right now if it weren’t for the umpiring.

    • zumiee said, on June 5, 2021 at 5:36 pm

      Totally agree.

  28. Macdog said, on June 5, 2021 at 5:36 pm

  29. zumiee said, on June 5, 2021 at 5:37 pm

    Nice RBI! Tromp 2021! 🙂

    • James said, on June 5, 2021 at 5:38 pm

      • zumiee said, on June 5, 2021 at 5:38 pm

        Admittedly so.

  30. Flavor said, on June 5, 2021 at 5:40 pm

Grave Duggar continues his assault on majority Flap knowledge

    • James said, on June 5, 2021 at 6:01 pm

If he exchanged a few Ks for walks while continuing to hit for power, he’d be the starting CFer for the next few years.

      • alleykat69 said, on June 5, 2021 at 6:09 pm

Yep.Between Sockless&GD just way to many K’s for both.
No choice but to play them both for now though..

  31. zumiee said, on June 5, 2021 at 5:43 pm

I can’t decide if Nance’s neckwear thing is really cool or just ignorable.

  32. James said, on June 5, 2021 at 5:57 pm

Winkler looks like he should be playing bass in a 90s guitar band. Right now, he’s pitching like it, too.

  33. Macdog said, on June 5, 2021 at 5:57 pm

I get nervous watching Longo running from first to home.

  34. denniszu said, on June 5, 2021 at 6:00 pm

Just waited for Fox announcer to say it….
‘ this Giants team is dangerous’…….

  35. zumiee said, on June 5, 2021 at 6:08 pm

Runner on second, no out, and Duggar and Tauchman are swinging like Babe Ruth. It’s today’s baseball in a nutshell.

    • James said, on June 5, 2021 at 6:12 pm

Tauchman swung at a pitch out of the strike zone, which is not what the Giants are about.

  36. Macdog said, on June 5, 2021 at 6:09 pm

First “center cut” of the game?

    • xoot said, on June 5, 2021 at 6:21 pm

But wasn’t it with an additional half-ass rhetorical flourish? “Center cut and hit to center field for an out” or something like that? Not quite as bad.

      • alleykat69 said, on June 5, 2021 at 6:27 pm

Right now Tauchman could have center butt and still miss it..

      • xoot said, on June 5, 2021 at 6:36 pm

        ah, a Pride Month post?

  37. James said, on June 5, 2021 at 6:15 pm

Baez is not destined for the Giants.

  38. Macdog said, on June 5, 2021 at 6:18 pm

    Did I just hear Floyd’s “Money” for Gausman’s walk-up?

    • zumiee said, on June 5, 2021 at 6:21 pm

      I missed it.

  39. zumiee said, on June 5, 2021 at 6:19 pm

Gausman’s AB was a strong argument for the DH.

  40. alleykat69 said, on June 5, 2021 at 6:28 pm

    So a Casali &Tauchman AB..

  41. zumiee said, on June 5, 2021 at 6:30 pm

Tromp with two slick plays. While baserunning, the early slide to avoid a tag, and then tagging out Rizzo.

    • xoot said, on June 5, 2021 at 6:36 pm

the tag was easy. I am glad he’s the backup now, though.

  42. James said, on June 5, 2021 at 6:35 pm

Gausman is a joy to watch. Please stay healthy.

  43. alleykat69 said, on June 5, 2021 at 6:41 pm

Double dose of McGee&Rodgers coming up.
Atleast Kapler wised up and switch their roles, I feel a hell of alt better seeing Rodgers in the 9th anytime..

  44. Macdog said, on June 5, 2021 at 6:45 pm

Tauch can’t hit but he sure does work the count, that must be his appeal to Z and Kap.

    • James said, on June 5, 2021 at 6:50 pm

He looks like he’s in one of those Belt funks where he’ll never pull a fastball again. He’s actually got two line drives today, one of them hit pretty hard to LF, but he is not getting around on the fastball.

    • zumiee said, on June 5, 2021 at 6:52 pm

Kap needs to give up on him and just start someone else, regardless of righty/lefty match-ups.

  45. Lurker John said, on June 5, 2021 at 6:55 pm

Then there are days when McGee looks unhittable. With one pitch. And Tromp looks good behind the plate. If he contributes anything at all offensively, and he already has today, I don’t care if we never see Casali again.

    • zumiee said, on June 5, 2021 at 6:57 pm

McGee is interesting in that the fastball is 94 sometimes, 97 sometimes, etc. Just enough of a little difference.

  46. zumiee said, on June 5, 2021 at 6:55 pm

Another Giants run would be groovy.

    • Macdog said, on June 5, 2021 at 6:59 pm

I think they’ve had a runner on every inning.

  47. zumiee said, on June 5, 2021 at 7:01 pm

Dubon should have been on second.

  48. Lurker John said, on June 5, 2021 at 7:08 pm

    Goddamn it Dubon.

  49. zumiee said, on June 5, 2021 at 7:09 pm

Bringing Dubon in was a bit of over-managing.

  50. djloo27 said, on June 5, 2021 at 7:09 pm

    WTF is his problem???

  51. Lurker John said, on June 5, 2021 at 7:09 pm

Shaky as hell at times in the field.

  52. James said, on June 5, 2021 at 7:09 pm

As uneven as the bullpen has been, they have been betrayed by the defense a lot this year.

  53. xoot said, on June 5, 2021 at 7:09 pm
