Yikes
Well, that was ugly. That’s actually how I expect every game vs LA to go but, luckily, I’m usually wrong. I have very little faith in Cueto these days but we have no choice but to support him this evening.
I’m surprised at the Max Scherzer news. I never thought they’d trade him unless it was for a king’s ransom. I guess that still might go down like that but it’s starting to look like Washington would take less. I’d still way rather have Berrios than Scherzer.
Day game today!
Willie, how is the McKallum book about the Warriors and the Lakers?
good, but less insightful about GS (mostly Curry years) vs. West and his pro career, both playing for Laker and including FO time.
Btw, enjoying Our Team! good stuff…Feller on Jackie Robinson, wow.
Oh cool, glad you were able to get it! I’m liking it a lot.
Scherzer, if he can be gotten without a high cost.
Shoot if anything about last night’s game is you need another stud pitcher to combat that Dodger LU.
As much as Berrios is decent he’s not great like Scherzer.Yeah he’s just turned 37 but he still pitches like 27, his numbers are incredible again this year 105 innings 142 K/s to 25 walks .086 WHIP. Not that I go all in on any of Krukow’s ramblings, but even he said:What’s not to like about Scherzer? He’s like adding a Verlander are Grienke at the deadlines to tip the scales..
Actually I have faith in Cueto’s start , he hasn’t faced the Dogpile this year that could be a plus after seeing T-Bone get hit hard twice against them and Gausman too.Best pitcher against the Dogpile has been by far Logan Webb,go figure? but his stuff and better yet his control has been spot on,this guy can turn into a top of the rotation dude in the future with just more mound time..
Unfortunate Dogs have had their way with deSclafani, and knocked out Gausman recently too. At some point if you face them post season, gonna need to be better than that.
The razzing Sax used to get at games was relentless and hysterical. It was non-stop all game. When it would actually happen, the crowds would go crazy. Was gonna try to go today, but it just didn’t work out.
I know the feeling I have been wanting to go to a game up here ever since they let the crowds back in. But I am stuck in the house for now because of family matters. I have about a 2 hour window and that is just not enough.
I hope the Dodgers get cocky today it would be the perfect time to put em back in their place. Good pitching will win it most of the time.
Yeah especially being a Dodger Sax with his yips throwing the ball were hysterical.
I commented about the “YIPS”the other day, a great player Chuck Knoblauch had them really bad especially after he came to the Yanks from Minnesota ( Big City pressure?) he once threw one in the stands and hit Keith Olberman’s mother squarely between the eyes, fortunately she was ok, but not her sunglasses 🕶 that were shattered. And then of course Catcher Mickey Sasser with his brief stay with the Giants could not for the life of him throw a ball back to the pitcher, as there would be like 4 infielders around the mound in warmups and they would ketch his erratic throws more then the pitcher, he even double clutched his arm too, all mental, tough but hilarious to watch at the same time..
Along with watching Rick Ainkel pitcher for the Cards, one minute he could just be overpowering, the next hitting the bull in Bull Durham. Even switched to outfield later on to restart his career and actually could hit with power, but that ended too. They had a very interesting documentary on him about the rise and fall of Rick Ainkel..
OK. let’s win this fucking series. Come on Cueto…nut-up and pitch…
1. Austin Slater (R) CF
2. Wilmer Flores (R) 3B
3. Mike Yastrzemski (L) RF
4. Darin Ruf (R) 1B
5. Donovan Solano (R) 2B
6. Brandon Crawford (L) SS
7. Thairo Estrada (R) LF
8. Curt Casali (R) C
9. Johnny Cueto (R) P
room on the roster now that sockman has been dfa’d. hmmm.
brebbia aisle relocated to Sac too.
yeah saw that. Seems the Giants have options to play with now.
Saw a tweet about the yips the other day. When Kobe got the yips in the Olympics he tossed up four airballs in a row; when Simone Biles gets the yips, she can die.
The personal attacks on her are vile.
There is a great article on the WaPo today telling the bigger story. She has been totally undercut for years by the US Gymnastic organization — they make the NCAA look like angels.

Well Hallelujah there is a god!
Tauchman see ya later, way overdue.
Bags said he must of knew it was coming cause he changed his walkup music last night to “The Final Countdown’
Dumped Brebbia as well to Sac good riddance and enjoy the baking heat!
Crawford activated, a great thing along with Aaron Sanchez I’m alittle suspect about, not sure if he was pitching well in his rehab, maybe Willied knows? Maybe works out of the pen first are a spot start?
Any news on Buster?
Agree the Tauchman DFA was overdue. Appreciate the handful of games he won for us with his glove and occasional (emphasis on occasional) HR.
Glad to see Brebbia optioned, too.
You’d think we’d hear something about Buster now that the game’s approaching.
I searched and saw nothing new on Buster. Casali was slated to start today even before Buster got dinged.
Odds on anyone picking up Tauchman, or does he clear and set up shop in Sac?
I’d say odds favor him ending up back in Sac, else there’s a team with a really moribund OF situation…
Watch Dodgers pick him up and he goes off..
Kerry Crowley mentioned that Posey was taking light throws today in the field and supposed to not be suffering from concussion protocol and possibly could be used as a PH, but Kapler is nixing that idea. They have moved Tromp to the taxi squad but haven’t activated him??now only Casali as they’re catcher.Backup emergency plan if Casali got hurt, Kapler mentioned Ruf&Estrada yikes 😳
Greg P says Kapler says no concussion
Well, Scherzer may have tossed his final pitch as a Nat. He went six today to get the W in the first game of a DH.
beat tweets are going apeshit over “@SFGProspects” report that Doval hit 104.5 on the gun last night. MiLB gun, I guess.
Proves he’s healthy I’m surprised the Nats pitched him, maybe he just wanted to show every team on good to go! He’s a huge pickup that the Giants could use with his dominant stuff.A difference maker, a beast, Gausman and Mad Max a 1-2 punch especially Mad Max with his scary 2 eyes even better, with his playoff experience.Make it so Z/H along with Bryant and this team becomes one the W/S favorites!!And who would of ever thought that? Time to strike is now, go bold are go home..
Posey to undergo the concussion protocol today.
Fucking ruf
Good take there, James?
Solano needs to hit something hard.
Make up walk…
Crawfish time!
Welcome back Craw!
Craw with the push to left!
Welcome back Crawdaddy!
Real quality AB going the other way for a double and 2 ribs!!
I always enjoy the way Crawford looks straight down his bat when hits the ball down the LF line
Looked like the right flipper of a pinball machine…
Ahhh. Sent a lot of my misspent youth shooting pinball.
Wow. Thanks, Albert. 3-0 DPs are sweet.
Pujols is slow enough to ground into a 7-4-3 DP…
Yep even today I put my money on Big Titty’s being faster..
Johnny C!
To the Padres???
WTF???
All I see says ‘close’
Johnny is the man! Chop hit, the last start walk and his 1st career steal!
Yes!! lay it on thick!
Wilbur!!!!!
Feed me my oats!!
Neat play by Yaz.
I don’t think that shimmy nonsense does Cueto any good.
Strictly for entertainment.
I do like the occasional quick pitch…
30 pitches through 3. Johnny B goode so far.
Dodger beat guy says Wilmet is hitting .342 vs. Dogs, 3 doubles 2 bombs 5 rbis.
If Bowden says it, it’s gotta be true.

Good Cueto is really fun to watch.
Yeah Johnny is spot on today only 2 hits 4K’s low pitch count 47..oh shit no jinks..
And what the Dogpile and Pads for that matter do best kick the ball around!
2 bottomfeeders in fielding 23rd Dogpile 25th Maxipads.
That might be the first time this season a Giants pitcher bunted a runner to second and the runner then scored on a hit.
Wow RISP Day with no bombs, go figure?
4 -0 Rock&Roll🎸
3-6-1 DP!
3-6-1 DP! Johnny having a game.
Yeah Johnny is fun to watch.Look at his athleticism covering 1st and taking the toss for a DP special..
Shea said Belt ready to start rehab games, and might be activated next week.
so if you don’t like Ruf, still have couple more months of Belt.
As Ruf whacks stand up triple.
off RHP no less
Cueto muy bueno.
Remember Angel Pagan’s stand-up triples? Long time ago.
Not sure what’s more unlikely, Ruf hitting a triple or running that much without pulling something.
Solano with the durf extends this inning. Got to get this out.
Plus the K with Ruf on 3rd and 1 out, not a good sequence for Barrels.
yeah that sucked.
Huh. Big call there. Kapler gave him is shot to talk him out of the move I guess.
Donnie Bs, Donnie Bs. Suddenly, that rumor of Story to the Giants to play 2B seems to make some sense.
Could play 3rd as well..
yeah, and maybe OF as well, they say.
Had to pull him with Bellinger the tying run .Time for Garcia to strike this mother f——r out!!
Great job by Johnny , should of been out of the inning..
Yessss!!!!!
Thank you!! Great call Kat 😂
Jar with the big K!
Same thing I said about Frazier. He would have been a better fit here.
Frazier would be good in SF, that’s for sure.
I’m here Waiting in my doctors office exam room monitoring the Flap. Looks like good Cueto showed up. Crawford back in the saddle . Go Giants!..
5-0 bottom 7.
Um, routine visit==everything OK?
Hearing issues.
Aging sucks…
oh yeah. know that one well. enjoy watching brit mysteries, but man without subtitles I’m lost.
Anybody like this 6th inning on pen?
Garcia 6th
Rodgers 7th
McGee 8th
Kimberl 9th
Slater now 7-15, another hot streak. just looked on B/R–coming into today OPS vs. LHP is .798. Might not be every day guy, but works fine in Kap platoon.
Dominant Leone.
Fat Wilmet takes the hill…
Looks like Dodgers are getting LHP Danny Duffy from K.C.
Can it be? Yes! Wade RBI double off a lefty!
Wade does it!!
whoa breaks that in big way. Good for Wade Jr.
How about that Wade rakes a left hander for his 1st time ever for a rbi double!!!
Kruk has a tough time without Kuip in the booth with him. He has to talk more about baseball, and that is not his strong suit. Mitch had soft hands at 3rd base? That’s not the way I remember it.
2B doesn’t require soft hands????
He did show soft hand on that bare handed one in StLouis though..
Touche
Fleming or Miller doing play by play are fine, which only emphasizes the contrast. “backdoor 2 seam movement”…OK fine. whatev.
Wade big hit then Wade stupid base running!
Your already in scoring position with the almighty GraveDuggar who gravely wanted to hack away..
wow pitch to non contact as Rogers Ks the side.
Wade hit off a lefty, now this!
