Well, the Pads are fading. Wish the Dogs would do the same. In that vein, I didn’t realize that 4 of the 5 Pads starting pitchers are on the IL. Cincy just a game and a half back.

Yep Padres are done.For all deals and money they spent with weelin and dealing GM Priller did, you can’t put Jack back put back up on the wall again..
Reds will easily blow by them by next week, there on a Blues Brothers mission from god run.Of course that’s after they pay up their bar tab at Bob’s Country Bunker pretending to be “The Good Old Boys Band”

Another pleasant night and another victory at Oracle. Webb was great, nice to finally see a starter get to the 8th. Two more bombs, and good to see Longo go deep after the long IL stint. Rough night for Buster, though, has that ever happened? Villar & Pillar also had a tough time and didnBefore, too pleased with the ump. Seats were upper deck 1st base side in 3rd row. We went to the game with two blond sisters, both around 60, who my friend knows. One’s from Menlo Park, the other one lives a block from Oracle. Before the game we had a few beers — Anchor Steam — on the rooftop of her apartment building, on Townsend. I sent Flav a picture of the partial view of Oracle from the roof. She said Krukow lives across the street. Anyway, great time before, during and after the game seeing Webb’s family, all wearing his jersey. Now it’s onto LA on an afternoon flight.

Low-key sightseeing yesterday. Went to Palace of Fine Arts, then lunch at the Mexican place on Chestnut. Right across the street is Booka Inc, ‘The West’s Oldest Independent Bookseller.’ I got a couple Giants books, the Mike Murphy one and another called Floating Giants, poems about the ’14 title season. Then a big -time hike up to Vista Park, might not be exact name, then worked our way to Painted Ladies houses with another nice park.

This is a crazy accomplishment when a unknown has his “One Shining Moment “
Pitcher Ron Necciai is best remembered for striking out 27 batters in an Appalachian D league minor league game May 12, 1952 the only pitcher in professional baseball to ever do that!
Called up in Aug of that year by the Pirates he went 1-6 with an ERA of 7.06 and had only 31K’s after the season ended for them in September he never pitched again..

Funny thing you mentioned Miners Snarkk.
Neccasi was pitching for the Bristol (VA) Twins and he was facing the Welch (VA) Miners!
Players and Managers said he could really bring it with a high 90’s FB and a curve they said just dropped of the table
Hey this is legit he’s been honored throughout baseball and thrown out pitches in the past and there was a movie called The Scout (Brendan Frasier) played his role striking out 27 Cardinals.
Even in his 27 strikeout game though it wasn’t a perfect game as he walked one and there was an error.
He was rehabbing in the minors with shoulder and control issues, which he even said fans would leave there seats for an inning are two just to stretch there legs while he was pitching. But it all came together on that one day.. He’s still alive at 89 long live the strikeout king for a day..

Giants have had trouble all year getting men in from 3rd with under 2 outs. Just make phucking contact, or try a safety squeeze like they did before a few games ago when I think Solano did it. Yaz at 3rd had good speed, even a crappy bunt probably scores him…
