Wade Does It Again
I’m embarrassed I once used to refer to this stud as “Lame-onte”. Bombs like that are what make seasons like this one special. It still feels like LA is going to zoom past us. But with guys like Wade doing their thing it’s possible I won’t even notice or care when they do.
That home run was as important as the Tauchman catch vs LA.
Seems like we have had big plays like that all year. The never say die attitude has paid off. We might not win the division but should be playing somebody at the end of the year. I wouldn’t want to be that other team.
We needed that one over the Albatross A’s to keep that monkey at bay. Even if we lose today, easier to swallow than to have gone into this game fearing the sweep.
Still wish as noted before the trade deadline that we added one more arm. Gausman and company coming back to earth and can we rely on the Webbs in the rotation. Maeda may have been someone we should have pursued….
Wade has a way of coming through late in games. He has a compact swing that doesn’t have a loop in it. The bat goes straight toward the ball.
Those in Nor. Cal. may have a River Cats game on a local TV channel the same time as the Giants game today. The Sac-town game can be put on the DVR, of course.
Wade on in…the water’s fine. I too was like you Flav and ridiculing Wade early in the season. Dude has proven he has a future with this team.
OK, let’s make it eight series wins in a row today. If we continue to win series, it won’t matter what the bums are doing.
Beat the Fucking A’s!
Tauchman 2…..perfect….let’s assume LA is thinking the same.
get in on this shit, guys. I want a Flapper to win this motherfucker! Sarge nailed the score a couple weeks ago but then got fucked on the tie breaker.
I was always on board with Wade, I liked his contact rate and the Giants staff tweaked his swing to unleash hidden power potential, he’s a gamer with so many clutch hits it’s been great watching his maturity!
GH..As far as maturity goes Logan Webb has blossomed into one of the best pitchers in the league the last month and a half, I’m really excited on how he has put it together on a consistent basis now, he’s only going to get better as his control has improved and teams cannot seem to square him up,and his K’s are way up..
1. LaMonte Wade Jr. (L) RF
2. Brandon Belt (L) 1B
3. Buster Posey (R) C
4. Brandon Crawford (L) SS
5. Kris Bryant (R) 3B
6. Alex Dickerson (L) DH
7. Mike Yastrzemski (L) CF
8. Darin Ruf (R) LF
9. Tommy La Stella (L) 2B
Webb on the bump for the Giants.
I was just hopping into a Uber going to SF when I heard saw on my phone Wade’s blast to take the lead as a yelled out “Hell Yeah” which startled the driver some lol 😂 to celebrate my daughter’s birthday 🥳 last night and mine tomorrow at a fantastic small venue in the Mission she found along with her boyfriend when they took a cooking class there, it’s called 18 Reasons u can rent the place out for parties and it’s a non profit with young culinary cooks who work with the owner to create fabulous dishes 5 dishes including one called Fish Pie, Poached Halibut,Smoked Salmon,Shrimp&Scallops,Pommes Duchness Sauce Normandy all covered in a buttery croissant on top! Also a Brasied Beef Short Ribs with sauce, Creamy Corn Polenta,Cherry Tomato Salad, Charred Broccoli, a spoonful of Melon,Cantaloupe Sorbet with a Ginger lime Syrup for your palate, before a classic NY Cheedecake with Boozy Berry Coulis!
You can BYOB in as well lots of wine 🍷 and beer 🍻 flowing , just a perfect evening after the Giants comeback win!!
I would be right there with the fish pie. I used to go the Mission for cheap but really good Mexican food. That is still my favorite food.
Yaz dropped in order again, hmmn. August slump is undoing power he showed earlier in year.
Kapler said he was going to try and make out lineups 4-5 days in advance, and let guys know upcoming scheduled days off. Admire his communication skills, and willingness to listen to. See how this works or if he winds up scrapping plan altogether as he tries to navigate stretch run.
Didn’t Bill Walsh use to have the first 25 plays set in advance or am I mis-remembering?
I never understood how he could possibly stick to that with situations constantly changing…
I think it was 15 plays.
Yep, it was 15.
Unca could confirm.
Walsh not only scripted, but I think they practiced those plays more than others, that’s why they were always so well executed and usually that first drive resulted in a TD. My recollection anyway. That late ’80s offense was a Ferrari, without the repairs…
Yeah, the first 15 plays, but would sometimes adjust for situations like 3rd and 1.
Good read on Yaz and his stats, etc.

Those Niner teams during that dynasty were such machines. I remember in the ‘84 season the Niners using a one running back formation on the whole opening drive against the Rams, scoring a touchdown, and then never using the formation again the rest of the game, and winning the game. Just such fascinating teams.
Fish pie! I’d give it a try.
It was so damm good Zumie!
Every bite of the salmon, halibut, scallops & shrimp blended together were mouthwatering with the crusted croissant on top sealing in all the flavors..
Sounds incredible.
Yeah. Usually 15 though he would go more sometimes. It got the team through the 1st quarter.
Jesus. Longo on the shelf. Again. IL
Long and Jackson back up
DeSclafani on the IL.
I just noticed on the Kapp radio show, on the exit credits KNBR must have a producer with a black, but fun sense of humor. They run a tape of him in spring training saying something like this about the pitchers practicing hard: “They’re getting ready to slash, and repping the hell outta their bunting”…
LOL
On Slusser’s twitter feed, there is a guy responding to her mentioning the transactions Unc is talking about.
His handle is “Yogi Barrister”…why does that sound so familiar?
Twin’s old buddy SOAB?
Sounds familiar to me too. Maybe the Splash.
The scourge of Walnut Creek. SOAD. Son of a Douchebag.
I think from the Splash daze….
Ruf Ruf!
wow Olson is tremendous player, but just got himself onto pretty exclusive list–guys thrown out on bases from the OF by Darren Ruf.
Olsen was lollygagging into 2nd base.
Ruf and Ready as he guns down Mrs.Olson ..
Right now, Webb looks like the choice to start a one game playoff game or a game 1 of a series.
Gausman ? No way…
Right now it sure looks that way…him or the waterboy….
Nice play by The Spitter to help Webb get outta the inning.
Looks like Gyros going to need a few HRs to win this one, as usual…
Definitely a great pitching matchup today, both Webb &Montas are dealing gems 💎
Damn Kat, that place in the Mission sounds great, wish I knew about it when I was in town. Maybe next year.
MacDog it’s actually a place that’s you can go in and take cooking lessons, but also have private event for a party up to 24 are so tops, not large inside but really fun and like I mentioned earlier u can bring your own beer&Wine in for your private reserved party. So it’s not exactly a regular walk in restaurant. My daughter took a cooking class there once, talked to Chef Mike( owner)about using it for her birthday gig, no problem with his small staff of rotating culinary inspired people. It’s just one long table and they bring out 1 dish at a time as Chef Mike explains the what his staff is bringing out next and the ingredients in them and they were all awesome..
Maybe a place for a Flap meetup!
Getting hit by a pitched ball is subject to replay review.
How can a runner being hit by a ball not be a reviewable play?
That is insane…
A couple of feeble swings on those Ks that inning.
Top 7 0/16 2/22 overall. 😦
Time for LW jr to go deep after a La Stella gets on!
Got ’em right where we want ’em.
Looking for Mr. Ed to save the day…
Settle for a Slater Tater so he can join the double digit HR club!
Barrels baby!
Yep, there’s the HR !
Solano ! ….
YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bingo!!
Are a walk and a Barrels Blast!!!!!
Oh my God I love this team’s resilience!!!!
Kap’s on fire. PH walk, PH 2 run bomb.
Like Snarkk said yesterday about Belt, Slater battling to get walk and get on base critical.
And in L.A., Davis 2-run bomb, Mets 5-2.
OK, now hold this friggin’ lead ! …
And here goes Rodgers showing more agony will exist..
Kap is sick. Pinch hits for last nights hero and gets it right!
Wholly Crap 💩
Canha would of scored once Barrels dropped the relay throw!
Giants keep the lead somehow..
Whewww, onto the 9th.
Rogers seems always good for a blood pressure spike…
14 pinch hit bombs this year. That’s already tied for their most with the ’74 and ’01 teams
I’ll always be grateful for Romo’s work during 3 in 5, but we could use another bomb here…
Mets up 5-2 in bottom 8th in the Latrine.
Could they actually take one from LA ? …
Yeah an add on run would be nice with are loogy McGoowie coming in..
WTF Dick?? Pitch was in the dirt you moron..
Dick was no match for Romo…
A couple generous strike calls for Romo.
Fuuuuuck.
Another run for the Mets 6-2 baseloaded walk.
No fucking extras
McGoo is not good for my chewed fingernails…
Ballgame!!!!!!
Wow, they take the series.
Yesterday, late, it looked like they had a shot at getting swept.
Sweet !
Eat that, A’s …
K! Fucking A you Fucking A’s,
EIGHTH straight series win!
Gotta love it.
Yes!
YES! Season series win over the A’s, and Mets up 7-2 in the 9th might actually win one.
YES!!!!
Amazing once again.
Hell Yes!!
McGee gets it done!!
Take the series and can toss the butt ugly trophy out the plane ✈️ heading to NY!’
I won’t assume the Mets will win, even up 7-2 in the 9th, but if they do, that’s a nice bump back to a 2 1/2 game lead. And, LA now faces Pads for 3 in Diego…
Too bad Webb couldn’t get the win – he pitched well enough to deserve it.
This kid is looking like he’s found confidence and is dialed in with that slider, and sinker.
Getting off being addicted to the change up has been a key…
Mets finally take one against LA …
On that 3-2 pitch to Slater, the A’s catcher did a horrible frame job. The pitch nicked the top of the strike zone, but the catcher took the pitch about a foot out of the strike zone.
All y’all that were saying my pal Gabe was a moronic meathead manager wannabe, who couldn’t win without a much larger spreadsheet, well you were wrong, yep wrongo. Oh wait, I was that guy. Turns out Kapler is a damn wizard. and I’m the one in need of that bigger spreadsheet as he’s making all the right moves.
lqtm!
80 Wins and counting.
It’s like Kapler isn’t strictly going with the spreadsheet but is doing some intuitive managing.
He sure struck the right chords these last 2 games.
I think I saw an Ouija board in the dugout, too.
One of my first hockey heroes just died…
An Everly brother has just passed away, too.
Tom T. Hall, also.
Dan Everly.
Oops, Don, I meant.
I knew a Dan Eberly.
Like many before me, Unchained Melody was our wedding song.
This was ours…
