A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

New York Let Down

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on April 20, 2022

SPring training, the biggest question about Cobb and Rondon was whether they could stay healthy. One down.

Driving in to work today, the KNBR morning show interviewed Ronnie Lott then Will the Thrill. I’m not sure if you could put an exacta like that together from my youth that would be any better…..

lol, my take from 5 years ago today….

    Bring Him Up

As Baggs noted, silver lining from Game 2 that Long Littell Brebbia and Marte went 4 1/3 scoreless innings after Webb was yanked. Cobb didn’t think it was serious injury, maybe just 10 day IL thing. Won’t be last pitcher there, though May 2 IL goes back to 15.

Christian Arroyo btw is still playing MLB. Saw him in RF for Red Sox on weekend.
    “Stubbs brother”, too funny.

Story in Athletic on effects so far of pitch clock in minors lowering time of game by 20 minutes on average.

Hopefully drop in velo for Webb had more to do with inability to get necessary grip on ball during cold weather. Saw quotes from he and kap that described them as “pearls”, I think, from Baggs.

I like to see Hjelle called up so we can see him on Sat but Beede is probably likely replacement.

I truly hate the automatic runner on 2nd. Even when it works for us I still hate it. Fucking world is turning into one big clown car.

So far, of the teams the Giants have played, the one with the highest ERA is Miami at 3.78. Those teams haven’t all gotten lean by simply facing the Giants. That’s some good pitching SF’s been been up against.

uh oh. What’s up with Deebo?

    • Winder's avatar Winder said, on April 20, 2022 at 10:45 am

Looks like he wants out. Now is the time to trade him.

      • Flavor's avatar Flavor said, on April 20, 2022 at 11:41 am

agreed. if they can get the 10th pick from the Jets for him I’d do that in a second

I wonder if people intentionally do shit like this just to go viral.
Is that what it’s all about now?
If they had the internet in the 70’s Unca Chuck would be a youtube celebrity at the very least…

I didn’t see/can’t tell the runner “showing up” the pitcher, so he must have done something before the vid started. Anyway, that’s a cheap shot by the pitcher, he basically blindsided the guy from a running start right after the runner high fives the 3rd base coach. Pitcher should be suspended for the season, could have really hurt the runner. If he wants to fight him, then do it fair. Another dumb “unwritten rule” result, IMO…

I guess Yaz & GD are the best we can do vs. RHP…

    1. Mike Yastrzemski (L) RF
    2. Brandon Belt (L) DH
    3. Darin Ruf (R) 1B
    4. Joc Pederson (L) LF
    5. Brandon Crawford (L) SS
    6. Wilmer Flores (R) 3B
    7. Thairo Estrada (R) 2B
    8. Steven Duggar (L) CF
    9. Joey Bart (R) C

    P: Carlos Rodon (L)

There’s some RISP hitting for you.
Would have preferred Thairo to swing away there.

Could be contract year explosion from Belt. Kap sliding him in as occasional DH working out well so far.

That Geico sign behind home plate is bloody obnoxious. You can’t track the pitches at all. No way that should be allowed on the field of play.

Has another player in sports ever went from one of the coolest fan favs ever.. to get this punk ass shipped out faster than Deebo?? I agree he needs a big raise / new contract, but to expect Adams numbers after what was 1 really great season after a lost injury year. What a punk.

The Giant’s luck had been for shit this series, the Lindor drive notwithstanding. This is headed for a nightmare ending.

Nice shutdown double play. What a gun from Bart on the attempted stolen base and Flores showing some nice glove work. Take tomorrow and earn a fair split.

Thanks. Amazing pic, great Warriors uni. Saw Artist Gilmore with Spurs play GS. Great story behind pic if you follow the thread. Preseason game btw ABA Champ Kentucky and NBA Champ Warriors per one Eric Lyons.

If you enlarge the pic, looks like Attles is walking off court in white jacket off to left. Behind and to right of players is guy holding 2 of the ABA basketballs.
